Kirby Smart’s Georgia Football Quietly Building a Trenches Dynasty With Monster 2026 Class, Says Analyst

Georgia is hitting the 2026 recruiting trail hard, focusing on the trenches as they target some of the nation’s top offensive and defensive linemen.

To win in college football, specifically the SEC, you have to build through the trenches. The offensive line and defensive line are where games are won, and every SEC school knows that.

While all programs try to land offensive and defensive line recruits at a high level, there’s one that does it better than the rest, and now, once again, they are shaping up to have another dominant recruiting cycle in the trenches.

Georgia Bulldogs Building Through the Trenches Once Again in 2026

The Georgia Bulldogs have quietly been building up their 2026 recruiting class as the month of June has gone on.

Since June 1, the Bulldogs have had seven recruits commit to Georgia, including four-star guard Ekene Ogboko.

Ogboko is ranked as 247Sports’ third-best interior offensive lineman in the class and a top 40 player in the country. He was the first big-time offensive line recruit that the Bulldogs were able to land in their 2026 class, but On3’s Chad Simmons doesn’t think he’ll be the last.

On the On3 Recruits YouTube channel, Simmons explained that the Bulldogs are far from done on the offensive line and are in heavy pursuit of numerous recruits, including four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee.

Lee was back in Athens for an unofficial visit last weekend, something that Simmons believes is a good sign for the Bulldogs.

“To me, that speaks volumes to where Georgia’s at on that list, Lee and his family,” Simmons said. “Obviously, he’s a top guy for Georgia, we feel that Georgia is one of his top schools as well.”

Georgia is also going after four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay, who took his official visit in Athens on June 13. Simmons thinks that Kolojay is down to his last two schools, with the Bulldogs being one of them.

“From my sources, it is neck and neck between Miami and Georgia at the top of the list,” Simmons said.

It’s not only the offensive line that the Bulldogs are building up; it’s also the defensive line. The Bulldogs are in a tight race for four-star EDGE, Khamari Brooks, and Simmons believes Georgia is going to win that recruitment as well.

“I think Georgia is going to be hard to beat,” Simmons said. He later added, “He has connections to Georgia, he’s been to Georgia 15-plus times, he lives just a few miles from the University of Georgia campus right there in Bogart. A lot of things favor Georgia.”

While it’s not a guarantee that the Bulldogs can land all of these guys, it’s clear that Kirby Smart and company are not messing around when it comes to building through the trenches.

If Georgia can get commitments from the three players Simmons talked about, its offensive and defensive line should be set up for the foreseeable future. The Bulldogs also brought in three five-star linemen and four four-star linemen in the 2025 cycle.

If Georgia can maintain its current success on the recruiting trail, a trenches dynasty could form in Athens.
