Entering Week 14 of the 2025 College Football season, the Georgia Bulldogs were in contention to play at the SEC Championship Game — but their fate wasn’t entirely in their hands. However, Kirby Smart’s team watched everything fall into place nicely on Friday night.
With the use of PFSN’s College Football Playoff Meter and the College Football Playoff Predictor, let’s examine Georgia’s chances of making it to the SEC Championship Game and playing in the CFB Playoff.
Georgia’s SEC Championship Game Chances
PFSN’s College Football Playoff Meter gives Georgia a 100% chance of playing in the SEC Championship game after they booked a return to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. With the Ole Miss Rebels winning and the Texas A&M Aggies losing, the Bulldogs can’t be supplanted from their seat at the top of the SEC table.
With a head-to-head win over Ole Miss and a superior conference schedule, Georgia is positioned safely above the Rebels. However, they could still face Lane Kiffin’s team in Atlanta, depending on what happens in the Iron Bowl on Saturday.

The scenarios for that game are very simple. If Alabama beats Auburn in their bitter rivalry matchup, then the SEC Championship Game will be Alabama vs. Georgia. If the Crimson Tide capitulates at the feet of their old foe, then the SEC Championship Game will be Georgia vs. Ole Miss.
Alabama’s win over Georgia earlier in the season means the Crimson Tide would be the de facto “home team” in the SEC Championship Game if the Crimson Tide beats Auburn. Yet, with the title game hosted in Atlanta, there will be more than a strong rooting interest in and around the stadium for the Bulldogs.
What are Georgia’s Playoff Chances?
There are two routes into the College Football Playoff for teams: win their conference championship game or be an at-large team. Georgia can make the CFB Playoff through both avenues.
The PFSN College FPM gives Georgia a 100% chance of making the College Football Playoff and a 47.0% chance of winning the SEC Championship. That leaves a 53.0% chance that the Bulldogs will earn an At-Large bid.
Georgia is currently ranked fourth in the CFP Selection Committee rankings, and that shouldn’t dramatically change this week after they took care of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate rivalry game in Week 14.
The Bulldogs are safely in CFB Playoff territory, regardless of whether they contend for an automatic or At-Large bid, and judging by how Kirby Smart has prepared his team to play traditionally in Playoff season, one can expect them to come prepared.
Our simulations also give Georgia a 41.8% chance of playing in the CFP semifinals, a 19.1% chance of playing in the CFP National Championship Game, and an 9.0% chance of winning the CFP National Championship.
