Florida’s 2026 incoming class gets stronger as three-star recruit Javarii Luckas officially commits to the Gators on Monday.
Florida’s 2026 Class Gets Huge Boost With Its 3rd Offensive Lineman Committing To The Team
The Florida Gators have made it their business under head coach Billy Napier to shore up their offensive line, and the latest commitment to their 2026 class fits the bill.
On Monday (June 16), Glades Central offensive tackle Luckas confirmed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he will join the Gators, picking them over Penn State, West Virginia, and Miami. Luckas’ words were relayed by Fawcett in a post on X, formerly Twitter, saying: “Gator Nation Let’s Ride!!” with alligator emojis added.

At 6’6” and 305 pounds, scouts have viewed him as an underrated prospect with a huge upside. He was set for an official visit to the University of South Florida, but this decision likely means it will be canceled. Luckas felt really comfortable at Florida during his official visit toward the end of May.
“When I had my (OV) there at Florida, when I was hanging out with the players, I felt like I was in a good relationship with them already,” according to USA Today’s GatorsWire. He already has a familiarity with the school through family; his cousin, Kelvin Taylor, played for the team at running back from 2013 to 2015 and was influential during his visit. He’s also a cousin of former NFL great and Florida running back Fred Taylor.

Luckas also cited his communication with offensive line coaches Jon Decoster and Rob Sale, noting how they’ve helped mold other players in his position. “Coach Decoster said he thinks they can develop me and possibly get me to the NFL,” Luckas said to On3’s GatorsOnline. “That’s what I am reaching for. They are good with development. I know they have a history of doing that stuff with 3-star guys and underdogs.”
He also discussed the coaching staff’s discussions with his parents and family as a deciding factor.
“It played a big role in my decision, because if you can’t build a good relationship with my parents as a coach, then I know I’m not going to have a good relationship with you,” Luckas stated. His commitment makes eleven so far for Florida’s 2026 recruitment class, which is remarkably strong on the offensive side with other three-star recruits such as G’Nive Carr and Chancellor Campbell.
