Florida Might Test ACC Head Coach’s Resolve With $100M Offer To Be Billy Napier’s Replacement

An analyst predicts that Florida could offer an ACC head coach $100M to secure one of their top candidates to replace Billy Napier.

The Florida Gators decided to part ways with head coach Billy Napier following a disappointing 3-4 start to the 2025 season. With the talent and resources to be one of the nation’s elite programs, the Gators need to hire a top-tier head coach to reach that level.

Several potential candidates have been linked to the opening, and one analyst believes Florida could offer an ACC head coach a $100 million contract to secure one of their top choices.

Analyst Predicts Florida Could Offer $100M to ACC Coach to Replace Billy Napier

While the opening in Gainesville is one of the best jobs in the country, Florida fired Napier during what could be the most competitive coaching carousel in the past decade. With the LSU, Penn State, and Auburn positions also open, the Gators face serious competition to land their desired head coach.

With that in mind, the Gators are likely going to have to offer a massive contract to secure their top choice, and college football analyst Aaron Torres believes that could be Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm.

Brohm has done a fantastic job during his tenure with the Cardinals, leading them to a 10-4 record in 2023, a 9-4 record in 2024, and now a 7-1 start in 2025. Louisville is in firm contention for the College Football Playoff this season, with PFSN’s CFB Playoff Meter giving them a 25.91% chance to make it.

Given Brohm’s success at Louisville, Torres believes it would be difficult for Florida to lure him away. However, if the Gators offered him a 10-year $100 million contract along with the recruiting resources that the program has, Torres thinks Brohm could be persuaded to leave the Cardinals for Florida.

“I love Louisville. Love Jeff Brohm,” Torres said. Think he wants to stay there forever. But if Florida offers him a 10-year, $100 million contract with all the recruits he’ll have access to, it’s a call he’s probably got to take.”

It’s an interesting idea from Torres, and one that Brohm would likely consider. While the Louisville head coach seems fully invested in his role with the Cardinals, $100 million is hard to turn down.

Additionally, as Torres points out, some programs simply have better resources than others. Florida would give Brohm access to some of the best in-state talent in the country, along with greater opportunities for NIL spending than Louisville.

Florida is reportedly considering other options, including Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin, Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz, and Tulane’s Jon Sumrall. However, if Brohm is near the top of the Gators’ list and they believe they land him over LSU, Penn State, and Auburn, Torres’ prediction of a massive contract offer to the Louisville head coach could very well become reality.
