EA Sports Announces Countdown to College Football 26 Deep Dive

EA Sports teases major updates for College Football 26 with a Deep Dive reveal set for June 20. Expect new features, plays, and gameplay footage.

After years of anticipation and a historic return to the digital gridiron, College Football 25 shattered records. It became the highest-grossing sports video game of all time, outpacing giants like Madden, FIFA, and NBA 2K. That success sets the stakes high for what CFB 26 needs to deliver.

The game hasn’t been released yet, but we’ve already seen several glimpses of its gameplay and features. And so far, it looks like it’s headed in the right direction.

The countdown has now started, as a deep dive gameplay video is set to release on June 20.

EA Teases College Football 26 Gameplay Release Date

This week is shaping up to be a banger for football fans and gamers. EA Sports is counting down to the much-anticipated Gameplay Deep Dive, set to premiere on June 20. The complete game will launch on July 10. If you pre-order the Deluxe or MVP editions, you can get early access starting July 7.

But that’s not the only hype right now. Everyone is getting ready for June 20 because the game company recently launched a campaign promising, “2,800+ new plays and formations are at your fingertips.”  The tweet also added, “The countdown to the #CFB26 Gameplay Deep Dive starts now.”

According to EA’s official trailer and early previews, College Football 26 will feature:

  • 2,800+ new plays and formations
  • 84 player abilities and 10 new archetypes
  • A dynamic Wear & Tear system that tracks fatigue and injuries in real time
  • Enhanced AI, blocking logic, and crowd atmosphere across all 136 FBS schools

If you think that’s all, let this change your mind – Today, Madden NFL 26 just dropped its own Gameplay Deep Dive, introducing exciting new features like QB & Coach DNA, Football Weather, and shared systems such as Wear & Tear.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and now, the College Football version must match that level because players are bound to compare the two games.

However, EA did drop a short gameplay clip as part of the countdown campaign, and some fans are skeptical. One claimed, “Looks like the same old thing.” One viewer even pointed out a flaw, asking, “Why did these two defenders just run toward the linemen instead of chasing the QB?”

But most fans are very excited. One fan wrote, “My playbook’s about to wreck shop.” Another added, “Next couple weeks are gonna be great.”, while someone else tweeted, “Bro, that scorebug looks so much f*ing better– it’s not even close.”

No matter which side you’re on, all eyes are locked on June 20.
