Former Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola entered the transfer portal on Dec. 15, and despite his early entry, he has not yet committed to a program. After being linked with several programs in need of quarterbacks, Raiola traveled to Eugene on Saturday to visit the Oregon Ducks, who had just been eliminated from the College Football Playoff.
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is unsure of his future and could return for an extra season of college football or declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be the first QB off the board on PFSN’s Big Board.
Analyst Urges Dylan Raiola To Reconsider Oregon Move
During Monday’s segment of the “Bunch Formation” podcast, analyst David Ubben urged Raiola to reconsider joining Oregon to potentially sit behind Moore, with his spring return yet to be confirmed after his season-ending fibula injury.
“Maybe it’s a situation where he thinks if he goes to Oregon, that pressures Dante (Moore) to make a decision,” Ubben said. “If you make the decision to sit, then you gotta be committed to sitting. He played two seasons, so I don’t know that sitting is that helpful for him. He had a broken fibula, there are some questions whether he’ll be back for the spring.

“I don’t think sitting would help him that much. I think he needs to play more football. Oregon doesn’t make a lot of sense for me from his perspective and the fact that they like to run their QBs a little bit, enough to keep defenses honest and make them account for it. And he’s just not gonna do that. If I’m Oregon, I’m probably not that psyched about it.”
Raiola is a former five-star prospect in the class of 2024 and was a two-year starter for the Cornhuskers under coach Matt Rhule before entering the transfer portal.
Raiola Linked With Redshirt Should Dante Moore Return
On Sunday, On3 reporter Pete Nakos revealed that Raiola was prepared to sit behind Moore for a year as he learns the Oregon playbook, before taking over as the Ducks’ QB1 in 2027.
“If Moore decides to return to school, Raiola could redshirt a season and be in line to start in 2027,” Nakos wrote.

“It’s a similar model to what Moore did, sitting behind Dillon Gabriel in 2024. It’s unclear at this point if Raiola’s younger brother, Dayton, would follow him to Oregon. The Ducks have emerged as the school to watch for Raiola.”
In nine games played for the Cornhuskers before he broke his fibula, Raiola tallied 2,000 passing yards, resulting in 18 touchdowns and six interceptions, which earned him an OFFi score of 80.2Â in PFSN’s College QB Impact and ranked him at No. 38 in the country.
