As the Colorado Buffaloes gear up for their 2025 season, Legendary coach Prime was recently seen on Deion Sanders Jr.’s vlog on the “Well Off Media” channel, where he shared a blunt assessment of Colorado’s recent prep.
The team’s match against North Dakota State on August 28 could define their trajectory in a pivotal year.

Sanders, as seen on the “Well Off Media” YouTube vlog, graded Colorado practice with a “C minus,” venting, “Probably Better C minus practice, man… We better than that. We got to give it more than that.”
He noted a disruption, saying, “Everything I do with y’all, for y’all, talking to y’all is purposeful.” Urging coaches to “grade harshly,” Sanders demanded, “Let’s tell the truth. They can handle it,” citing immaturity and a need to “talk to them about life.”
Coach Prime’s Playbook: Sacrifice, Grow Up, Win Big
During his speech at the fall camp, Sanders expressed his frustration with the players’ mindset, telling the team, “The problem with this generation is that they want to be seen, to be noticed, to be recognized… But you don’t want to be great. Because to be great, you have to sacrifice something.”

In the vlog, he was also seen saying, “Some of y’all got to be able to handle success and handle the monotony… You see some of these new guys, they ain’t built like that.” His NFL pedigree with eight Pro Bowls, 1994 Defensive Player of the Year, and more proves that wherever he says, he says with experience and absolute focus on making the team the best it can be.
Sanders stressed individual growth, saying, “Some of them have an immaturity level that they need to develop… We just keep talking to y’all about football. We got to talk to y’all about life.”
He warned, “When you play great, what happen? You have a bad game, what happens?… I’m telling you. You think they love you until you have a bad game.”

Shifting his focus to his staff coaches, Sanders urged them to instill discipline, saying, “Coaches, we’ve got to hold them to higher standards… Let’s not be light.” Despite still being in his cancer-free recovery post-bladder surgery, Coach Prime seems to be back to his usual form, clutching the reins of Colorado with firm hands.
Sanders’ call to “prepare like you want to play” targets newcomers unaccustomed to the Big 12’s grind. As Colorado faces North Dakota State, Sanders’s insistence on sacrifice and maturity, rooted in his two-sport stardom with the Falcons and Braves, could forge a more formidable squad that can have the deep run fans expect.
