Garrett Nussmeier is heading into his final season with LSU, hoping to lead the Tigers to the College Football Playoff and potentially win the Heisman. In Baton Rouge since his freshman year in 2021, Nussmeier has been as consistent as it gets in the ever-changing world of NIL deals and the transfer portal.
Still, at the end of the 2025 season, LSU will have to look to replace the superstar quarterback, but the good news for the Tigers is that the next great Nussmeier is already showing interest in the program.
Garrett Nussmeier’s Little Brother In Attendance for LSU’s Elite Camp
LSU is hosting its Elite Camp, where prospects from all over the country are invited to come compete in front of the Tigers’ coaching staff. In attendance is 2027 QB Colton Nussmeier, the little brother of LSU’s current starting quarterback, Garrett, and the younger son of New Orleans Saints OC Doug Nussmeier.
That’s right, there is another great Nussmeier quarterback on the way, in the form of Colton, who is already rated by 247Sports as a four-star prospect and the fourth-best quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class.
A recent video of Colton at the camp showed him and his older brother, Garrett, throwing the football back in fourth, which is an awesome moment for the Nussmeier family.

Colton just wrapped up his sophomore season at Marcus High School in Flower City, Texas, where he threw for 1,939 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three interceptions. The young quarterback is already growing into a college-level frame as he stands at 6’3″ and weighs 185 pounds heading into his junior season.
For reference, that makes him taller than his brother, one of the top quarterbacks in college football.

With the family’s legacy built in the state of Louisiana, it’d almost be shocking if Colton doesn’t attend LSU once he finishes high school.
The Tigers were among the first schools to offer the quarterback, but his recruitment has recently exploded. He now has 20 offers from Power Four programs.
Still, LSU will have to battle if they want to get the next Nussmeier quarterback to Baton Rouge, but they appear to be in the driver’s seat right now. Regardless of what happens over the course of Colton’s recruitment, it’s cool to see him at LSU throwing for the coaching staff, and of course hanging out with his brother and Dad on campus.
