It’s hard to believe that five weeks of the college football season have already passed, but as the season rolls on, more players unfortunately get injured.
Here’s a look at some of the key players dealing with injuries ahead of Week 6 and their status for the weekend.
Week 6 College Football Injury Report
Quintrevion Wisner, RB, Texas
Quintrevion Wisner hasn’t played for the Longhorns since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, he could return in Texas’s Week 6 game against the Florida Gators.
On Monday, head coach Steve Sarkisian provided an update on Wisner’s status, saying he’s been progressing well. All signs point to the star running back returning to the field this week.
Texas’s offense has struggled this season, ranking 76th in college football according to PFSN’s college OFFi metric. Getting Wisner back would provide a big-time boost for the Longhorns.
Behren Morton, QB, Texas Tech
Behren Morton exited Texas Tech’s Week 4 win over the Utah Utes with a concussion. The Red Raiders had a bye in Week 5, giving Morton additional time to recover.
Head coach Joey McGuire reportedly said that Morton was a full participant in practice on Sunday and that he looks and feels great. This is a promising sign, as Texas Tech should have its starting quarterback ready for its Week 6 game against Houston.
Morton has been solid this season, ranking as the 52nd quarterback in the country according to PFSN’s college QBi metric, while helping the Red Raiders rank as the 21st offense in the country according to PFSN’s college OFFi metric. If Morton can play against Houston, Texas Tech’s offense should be firing on all cylinders.
Roydell Williams, RB, Florida State
Roydell Williams has yet to play a game for Florida State in 2025, but was added to the team’s official depth chart ahead of the Seminoles’ crucial Week 6 matchup against the No. 3 Miami Hurricanes.
Williams is expected to play a key role in Florida State’s offense for the remainder of the season, though his status for the Miami game remains uncertain. On Monday, head coach Mike Norvell reportedly listed him as questionable.
Florida State’s offense has been elite, ranking as the best in the country in 2025 according to PFSN’s college OFFi metric, so adding Williams to the mix would only make them even more dominant.
Billy Edwards Jr., QB, Wisconsin
In Wisconsin’s season opener against Miami (OH), Billy Edwards Jr. suffered a knee sprain. He returned for the Badgers’ Week 4 matchup against Maryland. Still, he left early in the first quarter due to the injury.
Head coach Luke Fickell admitted that he likely rushed Edwards back too soon. Wisconsin had a bye in Week 5, and ahead of a pivotal game against No. 20 Michigan, Fickell reportedly listed Edwards as questionable for Week 6.
Wisconsin’s offense has been average this season, ranking 54th in the country according to PFSN’s college OFFi metric. If Edwards returns, he should help the offense perform at a higher level.
Dallas Wilson, WR, Florida
Dallas Wilson was a composite 5-star and ranked as the No. 8 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports. However, he has not played a game for the Gators this season due to a foot injury. Fans hope the true freshman will debut in Florida’s Week 6 matchup against Texas.
Head coach Billy Napier explained that Wilson’s status for the Texas game will depend on his performance in practice this week. Napier noted that Wilson played well in practice last week and feels good, making a Week 6 debut a strong possibility.
Florida’s offense has struggled this season, ranking 60th in the country according to PFSN’s college OFFi metric. Wilson would be a welcome addition for quarterback DJ Lagway as the team looks to turn its offensive woes around.
