Week 4 College Football Injury Report

LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina

LaNorris Sellers exited the game in South Carolina’s week three loss to Vanderbilt after taking a hit in the second quarter. After the game, he was diagnosed with a concussion and entered the team’s concussion protocol.

However, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the young quarterback returned to practice today, and all signs point to him being available for the Gamecocks’ game against Missouri on Saturday, September 20. That said, he was listed as questionable when the Gamecocks released their availability report on Wednesday evening.

Through three weeks of the 2025 college football season, Sellers hasn’t quite lived up to preseason expectations. Starting the season considered a Heisman Trophy contender, the South Carolina quarterback ranks 76th in PFSN’s College QBi metric with a 76.8 score — the same as Arizona’s Noah Fifita and Arkansas State’s Jaylen Raynor.

Despite this, the Gamecocks will hope to have the starting quarterback return for a key clash on the road at the Missouri Tigers. A South Carolina team with their dual-threat dynamo under center is a far more dangerous prospect than without.

Bryce Anderson, SAF, Texas A&M

Bryce Anderson suffered a scary injury in Texas A&M’s win over Notre Dame last weekend. After a collision with Fighting Irish tight end Eli Raridon, he was immobilized and carted off the field. On Wednesday, the Aggies provided an update on his status with some fantastic news.

According to Texas A&M, Anderson has undergone further evaluation from the team’s medical staff and did not suffer any sort of catastrophic injury and is in great spirits. The young safety won’t return to the football field for the foreseeable future, but it’s a relief to know he avoided the worst.

Kani Walker, CB, Arkansas

Similar to Anderson, Kani Walker was carted off the field in the Razorbacks’ game against Ole Miss after his helmet collided with teammate Caleb Wooden’s knee. Walker was taken to a nearby Oxford, Mississippi, hospital before returning to Arkansas.

Thankfully, according to Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman, Walker is okay, and there is even a chance he can play this week. However, Pittman was noncommittal about his official status for the Razorbacks’ matchup against Memphis on September 20.

Jermod McCoy, CB, Tenneesee

Jermod McCoy was a standout for the Volunteers in 2024, earning All-SEC second team honors, but the young cornerback suffered a torn ACL shortly after the season during an independent training session.

He was initially expected to return for Tennessee’s week three matchup with Georgia, but he ultimately did not play in that contest.

On September 15, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel stated that McCoy remains day-to-day, and his timetable for return is still unknown. In short, his status for the Volunteers’ week four game on Saturday, September 20, remains up in the air.

Eric Singleton Jr., WR, Auburn

Eric Singleton Jr. suffered a hip pointer injury in Auburn’s week three victory over South Alabama. Shortly after the game, Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze spoke on his receiver’s status, saying he was fine.

Singleton did not practice during the offense-defense periods of Auburn’s Tuesday practice but was active during the kick return period. While currently listed as questionable, he will likely play in the Tigers’ game against Oklahoma on September 20.
