Carson Beck Passes Career Milestone as Miami Beats Syracuse

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck broke a career milestone as the clock continues to run down on his College football career.

Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes bounced back from their loss against SMU with a dominant victory over Syracuse. During the game, Beck threw for 225 yards as the Hurricanes looked to keep their slim hopes of the College Football Playoffs alive.

Despite being ranked in the initial College Football playoffs rankings, Miami looks almost certain to miss out on the playoffs. According to PFSN’s playoff meter, the Hurricanes have a 0.84% chance of winning the ACC after losses to SMU and Louisville.

What Career Milestone Did Carson Beck Pass?

After throwing for 247 yards and a touchdown against Syracuse, the Miami quarterback set a new career milestone. Beck has now thrown for over 10,000 yards in his College football career. The Hurricanes quarterback is entering his final year of eligibility.

Going into the year, Beck was listed as a potential Heisman candidate. However, his bid quickly fell apart with Miami’s hopes of reaching the playoffs. According to PFSN’s College Football QB impact ratings, the Miami Hurricanes’ quarterback has been ranked 68th in the nation this year.

Beck also scored with a 14-yard touchdown on a pass from wide receiver Malachi Toney. Following his performance today, the Miami quarterback has silenced some criticisms that were aimed at him last week after he took a shot at the Hurricanes’ coaching staff.

“They ran the same play the entire time. I just execute the way the play is called.” Beck told the media after throwing two interceptions during the loss to SMU last weekend. The Miami quarterback is preparing to enter the 2026 NFL Draft.

“Carson Beck started the season hot behind a very good Miami offensive line, but the Louisville game serves as a reminder that many NFL teams do not see him as a starting-caliber QB prospect right now.” An ESPN report from earlier in the year read.

According to reports, the decision to sign Beck from Georgia cost Miami between $4 million and $ 6 million. However, a recent statement from College football analyst Mark Ingram reveals that the Hurricanes’ decision could have cost them even more.

They said it was anywhere from $4 to $ 6 million to go to Miami. And then they said, in the last 12 months, he has accumulated close to $10 million, that’s what they said.” Ingram stated.

With games against NC State, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech coming up, Beck has just three games left in his College football career to attempt to boost his NFL draft stock. However, his performance and comments after the loss against SMU could have seen him take a significant hit.
