Chase Roberts was a four-year standout for BYU, where he capped off a promising career. He was not selected in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent.
BYU Congratulates Chase Roberts After Signing With Raiders
After Roberts signed with the Raiders, BYU football quickly marked the moment with a brief congratulatory message.
“Congrats @chase_roberts11!! @Raiders ✍️,” the BYU X handle tweeted.
Roberts consistently produced strong numbers throughout his BYU career, topping 800 receiving yards in multiple seasons while totaling 54 catches, 802 yards, and 6 touchdowns last season. His 2025 performance earned him All-Big 12 Third Team honors, along with a 78.7 grade in the PFSN College Football WR Impact Metric. One of his elite performances came against West Virginia, where he recorded a career-high 161 receiving yards.
“He’s got a very physical, demanding presence about him,” BYU wide receivers coach Fesi Sitake said about Roberts at BYU Pro Day. “For his size, he is so fluid. He’s got a great feel for the game. We utilized him running a bunch of options. We could put him in any spot we knew he was going to get the job done. He is one of the greatest leaders I’ve ever been around.”
“He is so intentional and deliberate in his craft, and he has his priorities straight and prioritizes things the way you should, which is really hard to do at this stage in any young adult’s life. I think that just speaks to him and all that he is as a person. He just happens to be a really good football player on top of that. So I think any organization is going to get a heck of a player and a heck of a person.”
Roberts finished his BYU career with over 2,500 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.
He also recorded solid overall testing numbers at the NFL Combine. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds and reached 37 inches in the vertical jump. He also recorded a 10-foot-6-inch broad jump and a 1.60-second 10-yard split.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein said Roberts has “good size” and “adequate speed,” but said that he is unlikely to be an NFL separator on deep routes. He explained that the BYU receiver runs routes with good disguise and above-average technique, but lacks the foot quickness needed for easy releases against press coverage.
However, Zierlein also said that Roberts still shows solid footwork to get in and out of breaks cleanly at the first and second levels.
Roberts will look to make the most of his professional opportunity, and he now joins the Raiders alongside former BYU teammates Tanner Wall and Isaiah Jatta.
Roberts will now join the Raiders, where he links up with No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza. The two already seem to have a developing connection, with Mendoza previously interacting on Roberts’ Instagram post during the NFL Combine.
