Where Will WR Omarion Miller Land? Five Schools That Would Be Great Fits

After three seasons in Boulder, Miller left the Buffaloes and jumped into the transfer portal. In 11 games this season, the rising senior caught 45 passes for 808 yards and eight touchdowns. In addition, Miller’s 18 yards per catch paced the Big 12. Now, he looks toward his next stop.

LSU

This fit makes sense for Miller for several reasons. Returning to Louisiana would be a homecoming, as he averaged 27.8 yards per catch at North Caddo High School. New head coach Lane Kiffin favors versatile receivers in his spread offense, which thrives on vertical plays to stretch defenses and create running opportunities. Last year, the Tigers ranked 72nd and last in the SEC in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric.

Miller’s ability to stretch the field aligns with this philosophy. Miller initially committed to LSU in August 2021, showing past interest, before changing his decision.

Auburn

Auburn needs receiving talent following several transfers. Head coach Alex Golesh seeks to rebuild the Tigers’ offense, and pairing Miller with standout Cam Coleman would give Auburn one of the SEC’s strongest wide receiver duos. This would address recent gaps and improve the team’s offensive weapons.

USC

Makai Lemon, USC’s Biletnikoff Award winner, led the Big Ten in receiving yards but isn’t a deep threat, excelling instead with precise routes at short and intermediate levels. USC’s offense needs a receiver like Miller to draw coverage away from Lemon, especially in the red zone, and to give defenses another threat to account for.

Michigan

Despite recent program challenges, Michigan offers certain advantages. Major donors, like Oracle founder Larry Ellison, support the team’s ambitions. With Donaven McCulley graduating, a receiver spot opens, and rising sophomore Bryce Underwood could benefit from taller targets like Miller as his accuracy continues to develop.

Miller’s experience in Colorado’s weather means he could adapt well to Michigan’s climate. The offense, largely powered by the rushing attack, could use a playmaker like Miller to diversify its threats.

SMU

SMU will lose two of its top wideouts to graduation, according to cfbdepth.com. With Jordan Hudson and Romelio Brinson accounting for nine touchdowns and 100 catches, there is a clear need for playmakers. Returning quarterback Kevin Jennings is positioned to lead the team back to playoff contention, and SMU’s fast-paced offense would allow a receiver like Miller to thrive in a system geared toward high-volume passing.

Miller will receive many offers. The key decision is whether he will prioritize winning, financial incentives, or a combination of both.
