The Cleveland Browns walked into Week 4 with a ton of momentum. Registering their first win of the season against a potential Super Bowl contender in the Green Bay Packers, the 13-point swing in the final four minutes certainly gave new life to the organization.
However, the problems plaguing the roster haven’t gone away in an instant. Despite possessing a genuinely elite defense, the offensive personnel aren’t up to the mark for the Browns. Unfortunately, things might go from bad to worse with Cedric Tillman suffering an apparent injury against the Detroit Lions.
What Happened to Cedric Tillman?
Starting with an excellent first script, Cleveland was quickly able to put up seven on the board. However, the going has gotten extremely rough since then, with just 16 total yards added by the offense.
Unfortunately, the situation took a noticeable turn for the worse with Tillman. Near the end of the first quarter, Scott Petrak of The Chronicle wrote, “Browns WR Cedric Tillman in medical tent.”
However, fans in Cleveland could breathe a sigh of relief with Zac Jackson of The Athletic confirming soon after, “Cedric Tillman just came out of the injury tent. Jogging behind the sideline now.”
Soon after, beat writer Mary Kay Cabot reported, “#Browns Cedric Tillman visited the tent, but he’s back on the field for this second Q drive.” However, it quickly became clear that all wasn’t okay with him.

After getting his hamstring checked out once, Cabot added, “#Browns Ced Tillman to locker room. He was earlier evaluated for a hamstring in the tent.” A trip to the locker room is never a good sign, and the Browns’ worst fears came to pass.
Soon after, the official confirmation came, as Cabot wrote, “#Browns Tillman is out for the game with his hamstring injury.”
A second-generation star, Tillman was taken in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Browns. A slow start to his career saw him total less than 600 yards through his first two seasons.
However, it looked like he’d turned a corner this season, totaling 10 catches for 100 yards through three games and leading all players on the team with two receiving touchdowns. Last season, too, Tillman missed time with injuries, suiting up in just 11 games due to a concussion.
He is currently ranked as the 70th best WR in the league based on PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact (WRi) with a score of 68.6.
