‘Tryna Sell This Game Like Terry Rozier’ – Ex-Eagles LB Rips Vikings QB Carson Wentz Over Crucial Error

After a brutal performance against the Los Angeles Chargers, a former linebacker made a brutal comparison to Terry Rozier for Carson Wentz.

The Minnesota Vikings have not been the team that the organization was trying to sell us on before the season. After going 14-3 with Sam Darnold as the starting quarterback last season, the team pivoted to J.J. McCarthy as the starter at the behest of head coach Kevin O’Connell. However, two games into the season, an ankle sprain took McCarthy out of the lineup, and backup Carson Wentz has been the one to hold down the fort for the Vikings.

Unfortunately, holding down the fort has translated to a 3-4 record for the organization through eight weeks after an abysmal performance to kick things off in the Thursday Night Football game in Week 8.

A majority of the blame, though, from media members and former players alike, fell on the shoulders of their man under center and arguably the most experienced player on the roster, Wentz.

Former Linebacker Disrespects Carson Wentz’s Integrity

At the two-minute warning, the game had been as one-sided as it could get, with the Los Angeles Chargers leading 37-10. But doing a deeper dive into the statistics showed an even uglier picture, with the Vikings failing to tack on 200 total yards of offense.

On the night, Wentz finished with 144 passing yards and a touchdown while completing 15 of his 27 passing attempts, as he cost Minnesota a turnover as well.

As they failed to move the ball, former Philadelphia Eagles star turned media analyst Emmanuel Acho had some brutal comments about the work the Vikings’ backup had done on the night, highlighting the interception early in the fourth quarter.

“Wentz, what are we doing, bruh? I mean this pocket as clean as a pocket can be in the National Football League. Ain’t nobody within five years of you, let alone yards, and you gonna airmail this joint?”

That’s when he took his breakdown a bit too far, claiming, “If you want to sell this game, just sell yourself to the gambling sting. They’re already taking cats.” Continuing on his absurd rant, Acho added, “If you want to get caught up in this thing, don’t be so obvious.”

Alongside the video that he posted on X, he added a caption that tried to soften the blow, at the very least. “Carson Wentz tryna sell this game like Terry Rozier! Kidding” The comments from Acho were a direct tie-in to a shocking start to the day in the NBA.

Thanks to an FBI investigation into an illegal gambling scheme, Rozier turned out to be one of the central figures who were arrested for their deeds, alongside Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups.

Throughout the offseason, there were reports of multiple investigations into Rozier for allegedly “fixing” games and betting on them. Finally, the truth of the matter came out, and an arrest was issued in his name.

Comparing that kind of true rigging of the game to an off night from Wentz may have been a step too far from Acho, especially after the former has been solid throughout the season, ranking 17th on PFSN’s QB Impact.
