The Arizona Cardinals want to continue their improvement after finishing 8-9 during the 2024 NFL season. Kyler Murray also started to look like his old self again as he played his first full season with the team since 2020.
As the Cardinals continue to improve in their play, they will also look to provide depth to their valuable quarterback position behind Kyler Murray. Their recent visitor is a former Pro Bowler, but he is not your average Pro Bowl quarterback.

Tyler Huntley Works Out for the Arizona Cardinals
Snoop was in the building! No, not the D-O-Double G, but 2022 Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley worked out for the Arizona Cardinals today, according to “NFL Spotlight” host Ari Meirov.

The fact that Huntley has a Pro Bowl attached to his name is quite the story. Huntley was named to the 2023 Pro Bowl Games as an injury replacement for Josh Allen. Considering the sample size of four games started, winning half of them, and finishing the season with 658 yards, two passing touchdowns, and three interceptions, it was an interesting choice that he was named a Pro Bowl replacement.
Nonetheless, Huntley was seen as a reliable backup to Lamar Jackson throughout his Baltimore Ravens tenure from 2020 to 2024. In September 2024, the Miami Dolphins added Huntley from the Ravens’ practice squad after Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion. He started five games for the Dolphins, finishing with a 2-3 record, 829 passing yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.
His numbers certainly are not staggering, but they were enough to ensure the Dolphins did not drop out of playoff contention early while Tagovailoa was on the mend.
Huntley Could Provide Injury Insurance Behind Kyler Murray
The Cardinals could use some help in the quarterback room, as Murray was backed up by Clayton Tune last year. Tune had one career start in 2023 when he threw for 58 yards and two interceptions as the Cardinals lost 27-0 to the Cleveland Browns.
While it was positive to see Kyler Murray back on the field for a full season, injuries are a part of the game, and the Cardinals are starting to scout for a reliable arm should they lose their former first-overall pick for any chunk of time again. Murray finished his full return year with 3,851 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. These numbers are much more reminiscent of his early healthy seasons in the desert.
He also finished with a season grade of 77.3, which was 16th in the NFL in 2024, according to PFSN’s QB+ metric. This was promising coming off of an injury.
Should Huntley don the red and white, it would give head coach Jonathan Gannon some relief, despite not being the biggest backup quarterback threat. Nonetheless, Huntley has done enough in his career thus far to keep his teams in it when his number is called to step up — enough to get a call from Arizona and potentially back up their guy.
