Caleb Williams Shouts Out His Mom Rather Than His School During Bears-Rams Intros: Get To Know Dayna Price

Caleb Williams used his primetime introduction to shoutout his mother instead of going the traditional route with his college.

The Bears have a chance to make it back to the NFC Championship for the first time since 2010. Chicago has the primetime slot, are playing at home in front of their fans, and are coming off their best win of the season.

As with all primetime games, the players get to shout out their college in the intros. But Caleb Williams tried a new approach with a unique shoutout.

Caleb Williams’ Original Shoutout

Williams decided to turn the spotlight to his mom, Dayna Price, during his player introductions instead of giving credit to USC.

It’s not a shot at USC, but a gesture of gratitude to his mother.

“Caleb Williams. Shoutout, Mom,” said Williams.

This isn’t the first time that Williams has shouted out his mother in player introductions. But with the spotlight on the Bears in the divisional round, Williams wanted to give his mother some shine.

Price played college basketball and volleyball at the University of Maryland. Caleb said that his mother is the most important person in his life. She’s always been a mom first and the woman behind the scenes who inspires him in many ways.

When Williams was in college, a moment between Price and Williams went viral. USC’s College Football Playoff hopes went up in flames, and Williams was seen emotional in his mother’s arms. These two are very close and are each other’s biggest supporters.

Williams has taken a major leap in his second season in the NFL. He’s the 20th-ranked quarterback in PFSN’s QB Impact score. Head coach Ben Johnson has had an immediate impact on Williams’ development. The team could barely buy a win at the end of last season, and this season, there’s no game that the Bears can be counted out of.

The Bears get it done in the clutch moments. They turned an 18-point deficit into a playoff victory against their biggest rival. Williams was a key part of engineering the late fourth-quarter drives that gave Chicago its most significant win in years.

Williams is responsible for seven fourth-quarter comebacks in the 2025 season. He has 12 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and overtime, which is second in the NFL behind Matthew Stafford with 16. Unfortunately for the Bears, Stafford is their opponent in the divisional round and stands in their way.

But Williams is not going to back down, and neither will his team. Instead, they are going to bear down and do everything in their power to keep this special season going.
