Caitlin Clark Reveals Which NFL Team She’s Rooting for During the Playoffs With Her Chiefs Eliminated

With the Kansas City Chiefs eliminated from the playoffs, Caitlin Clark has a new team she will be rooting for through the postseason.

With her ties to Iowa, Caitlin Clark has long been a Kansas City Chiefs fan. With her fame rising in recent years, her fandom has come out into the public eye, including an appearance in the suite box alongside Taylor Swift. This year, though, the women’s basketball phenom has a choice to make.

Who Has Caitlin Clark Chosen As Her Chiefs Replacement?

With the three-time consecutive AFC champions bowing out of the playoff race, Clark has the opportunity to cheer on a new team as the NFL postseason stands right around the corner. And speaking to a legend from the Chiefs franchise, she made it clear who her pick was going to be.

A proud member of the Indiana Fever, who selected her with the first overall pick, Clark has been instrumental in the franchise’s complete transformation, going from back-to-back first-round picks to a semifinal appearance in just two seasons.

However, even with her loyalty to Indiana, where she constantly cheers on the NBA counterpart, the Indiana Pacers, her fanfare for her football team goes a bit deeper. With her familial and collegiate roots in Iowa, Clark has been a lifelong Chiefs fan.

Her love for the franchise came to light when she was seen in a suite alongside Taylor Swift and other high-profile fans in Kansas City. Last year, she revealed how deeply her fandom was ingrained.

“I have family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City. That’s just the closest NFL team. My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up,” Clark shared.

But, with the special circumstances of this season, Clark was a free agent as a fan. Making an appearance on the “New Heights” podcast this week, she revealed which team and player have stood out to her the most.

“I’m a Drake Maye fan, I think he’s been incredible,” she began, before conceding, “I’ll probably be pulling for the Patriots.” However, she also made it clear that teams like the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks have also impressed her so far this year.

With one week remaining in the season, it is hard to fault the choice Clark is moving forward with. Maye is firmly in the MVP discussion as he remains fourth in the league in passing yards (4,203) and total touchdowns (34).

He’s been a key reason for New England going from a four-win roster last year to 13 wins and counting this season. With a 10-game win streak in between, he has been as good as advertised as a former third overall pick.

With the team potentially going into the playoffs as a top-two seed, they have momentum and home-field advantage on their side. But he would have to be the centerpiece for the Patriots to go on a deep playoff run this year.
