Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding became one of the biggest celebrity events of the year, with stars from music, sports, and entertainment joining the celebration.
Several NFL legends and Chiefs figures were reportedly part of the guest list, but one prominent Kansas City figure was left watching from the sidelines. Rather than take the snub personally, he had a joke ready and another idea that could bring the newlyweds to Dallas.
Dan Hunt Jokes About Missing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding
Kansas City Chiefs co-owner Dan Hunt was asked about the highly publicized wedding during an interview with “CBS News Texas.” Hunt confirmed that he was not invited to Swift and Kelce’s wedding, but he quickly turned the question into a joke.
“I did not get invited to Taylor Swift’s wedding,” Hunt said. “Apparently, I don’t sing well enough to get invited.”
He added that the invitation question had become one of the most common things he had been asked throughout the summer.
“That’s probably been my second biggest question of the entire summer: Did you get invited to Taylor Swift’s wedding and Travis Kelce’s? No, I did not,” Hunt said.

The absence did not appear to create any hard feelings. Hunt explained that he had spoken with his brother, Clark Hunt, who attended the wedding, and heard that the celebration was a special occasion for Kelce and his family.
“I have not,” Hunt said when asked whether he had spoken with Kelce since the wedding. “My brother was there, and I talked to him, and he said, ‘Look, it was really special, and it was really unique, and we are all so happy for him.’”

Hunt then shifted the conversation from the wedding to a possible future appearance by the newlyweds in Dallas. He said he was already working on the idea of bringing Swift and Kelce to an FC Dallas match.
“I’m working on it,” Hunt said. “You know, we’ll have to see. It’ll probably be after Travis retiring, but they’re always welcome down here.”

Hunt acknowledged that Swift’s schedule could make such a visit difficult, given her commitments as one of the world’s biggest stars. Still, he sees an FC Dallas match and a stop at Toca Social as a fun possibility.
“She does have a busy schedule, though. You know how it goes as a star,” Hunt said. “But a match and coming to Toca Social would be fun.”
Hunt also offered a personal assessment of Kelce, making it clear why he would welcome the Chiefs star to Dallas.
“I’ll tell you, Travis is one of the most fun individuals I’ve ever been around in my life,” Hunt said. “I can only imagine what it would be like to have him here doing it. So, maybe it’ll come true. Who knows?”
The wedding itself reportedly featured around 1,000 guests, with Patrick Mahomes, Jason Kelce, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Greg Olsen among the football figures in attendance.
Hunt may have missed the celebration, but his comments suggest the door remains open for a different kind of Swift-Kelce appearance in Dallas.
