Quarterback Cade Klubnik has had an extremely up-and-down collegiate career across his four seasons at Clemson. Now that he has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, he projects to be selected in the fifth or sixth round. With the draft quickly approaching, here are three potential suitors for the talented signal-caller.
Los Angeles Rams
Each year of the Matthew Stafford era in Los Angeles, fans and analysts have urged general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to plan for the future and select a developmental quarterback prospect. Still, they have consistently taken a different route regarding their QB room.
In 2022, veterans John Wolford and Baker Mayfield primarily operated as the team’s backups. The following season, Brett Rypien and Carson Wentz served that role. Meanwhile, in 2024 and 2025, Jimmy Garoppolo filled the position.
However, with the draft less than two weeks away, the franchise has yet to re-sign Garoppolo, leaving them with a void in their QB room. Klubnik, 22, could be a strong fit and a potential starting option down the line as Stafford heads into what may be his final NFL season.
Arizona Cardinals
This offseason, the Cardinals have already made two significant moves at their QB position. Under newly appointed first-year head coach Mike LaFleur, they released former Pro Bowler Kyler Murray and brought Gardner Minshew II on a one-year deal.
Aside from Minshew, the Cardinals’ QB room features Jacoby Brissett, the likely Week 1 starter, along with Kedon Slovis, formerly an undrafted free agent in 2024. Simply put, Arizona could desperately use another young talent with high upside.
Many have assumed that the next QB1 could be Alabama’s Ty Simpson. However, early signs have pointed to the Cardinals waiting until 2027 to get their QB of the future. If they do want to get a look at someone in this year’s class, though, Klubnik is near the top of that list.
Green Bay Packers
Over the past two seasons, no backup QB was more impressive than Malik Willis. Thanks to his performance, he earned a three-year, $67.5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins in March. Now, a month later, Green Bay has yet to fill that role.

Behind the 4th-ranked starting QB on PFSN’s NFL QB Impact Metrics, Jordan Love, are Desmond Ridder and soon-to-be second-year passer Kyle McCord. Both were signed this past January and have no guarantee of making the 53-man roster come fall.
