Bryce Young Made Panthers History in Dominant Week 11 Performance vs. Falcons

The Carolina Panthers sit at 6-5 after their Week 11 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Furthermore, it was a confidence-boosting performance from Bryce Young.

With the Panthers battling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South, Carolina needs Young to replicate his performance against the Falcons down the stretch, and it wouldn’t hurt if he made history too in the process.

Bryce Young Overtakes Cam Newton for Panthers Record

Against the Atlanta defense, Young completed 31 of 45 passes for 448 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Additionally, this performance etched the signal-caller in the team record books as he overtook Cam Newton (432 passing yards) for the most passing yards in a game by a Panthers player in franchise history, per FanDuel.

It was the third time this 2025 season that Young has recorded at least three touchdown passes in a game for the Panthers, per StatMuse. Furthermore, it’s the second time that the Carolina star records a QB Rating over 100.

For the Panthers, this performance came at an ideal time, as Carolina was not only fighting to win the division but also had tough opponents coming up in their next two games. Young and Co. will be facing the San Francisco 49ers on November 24, 2025, and the Los Angeles Rams on November 30.

If the Panthers, who currently rank 23rd in PFSN’s Offense Impact (OFFi), want to secure wins over these two squads, they’ll need Young to play like he did against their NFC South rival.

Young Talks About Making Panthers History

It’s not every day that a player can have a performance that puts him in his team’s history books. As a result, Young didn’t hold back on what this achievement means to him, especially since it led to a win.

“Yeah, definitely honored,” Young said about making Panthers history with his performance, as posted by Joe Person of The Athletic. He then spoke of what he felt about Newton, saying, “I have so much respect for him, for all that he has accomplished, for the player he is, all this stuff. I have so much respect for him.”

But Young is here to win, not to collect individual achievements. Emphasizing that, he said, “Hearing that is definitely an honor. You said it. You didn’t want me to say it first, but I’m still going to repeat it. An individual award is not what I’m after.”

After numerous questions about whether Young should be the Panthers’ starting quarterback, the Carolina star is demonstrating that he can deliver impressive performances and be a valuable contributor to a team with playoff aspirations.
