Kenny Pickett is competing for the starting job on the Cleveland Browns, his third team in his four-year NFL career. The 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft spent the first two seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he mostly served as the starting quarterback.
After the franchise acquired both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson last offseason, they traded Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, along with a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and two seventh-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. He almost exclusively served as Jalen Hurts’ backup, however, he did get the starting nod in one of his five games played as the two-time Pro Bowler was out with a concussion.
Pickett also backed Hurts up during the postseason, playing a total of 12 snaps; all of which came in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl as both were blowouts. His wife, Amy, recently showed off his Super Bowl LIX ring.

Following the Eagles’ Super Bowl run, they traded Pickett to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The move will give him the opportunity to compete for a starting job.
While he is no longer with Philadelphia, Pickett was on hand for the Super Bowl LIX ring ceremony on Friday. His wife, Amy, took to Instagram to share photos from the event, featuring the couple, the Lombardi trophy and the Super Bowl LIX ring, captioning the post:

Pickett spent most of the season as Hurts’ backup, however, he did lead the Eagles to a victory in his lone start; one which allowed the team to clinch the NFC East and rest their starters in Week 18. He will now have the opportunity to try to earn a starting role with the Browns after winning his first Super Bowl ring.
The fourth-year quarterback is set to compete with Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel for the starting role in training camp and the preseason. Pickett has largely struggled throughout his career, which has consisted of 30 games, 25 of which he started.
While he has a 15-10 record as a starter, he has thrown for just 4,765 yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Pickett has completed 62.4% of his pass attempts while adding 306 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 106 carries.
