Browns Predicted to Select 14-TD ‘Go-To’ WR to Upgrade Shedeur Sanders’ Supporting Cast

Cleveland Browns predicted to draft WR Carnell Tate to upgrade the supporting cast for Shedeur Sanders in latest PFSN mock draft.

The Cleveland Browns have a mountain to climb on offense if they’re to become a competitive force in the AFC. Having scored the fewest points in the NFL over the past two seasons, the team then saw several key members of its starting offensive line hit free agency. After the team added to its O-line ranks in free agency, though, the latest three-round Mock Draft from PFSN’s Ryan Moran has the team making a splash in the first round.

Not only did the Browns lose multiple starting offensive linemen in free agency, but veteran tight end David Njoku also left the building in search of greener pastures. Harold Fannin Jr. appears more than ready to carry the torch at tight end, but the Browns are still short of pass-catching options.

Browns Target Carnell Tate in Recent PFSN Mock Draft

Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman are currently the team’s top receivers, and Cleveland will surely be looking to add more talent to that room in late April. That’s exactly what happens in Moran’s mock. Despite there being a wealth of top offensive line talent on the board, the Browns select Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate with the sixth overall pick.

“Carnell Tate is a tall wide receiver with an exceptional contested rate from his time at Ohio State,” Moran said. “He can win down the field, has great hands, and impressive route-running ability for his size. In the run game, he can also contribute as a blocker.”

“Tate would provide the Cleveland Browns’ offense with the go-to presence it needs on the perimeter,” Moran added. “In 2025, he averaged 17.2 yards per catch and had nine touchdowns.”

What Carnell Tate Could Provide for the Browns Offense

Tate totaled 14 career touchdowns over three years at Ohio State, but the Buckeyes have a seemingly endless conveyor belt of elite receiver talent. Having waited his turn behind the likes of Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, Tate averaged 79.5 receiving yards per game and caught nine touchdowns in 11 games in 2025.

As Moran describes, Tate would add height and range to Cleveland’s boundary, allowing Jeudy to operate primarily over the middle of the field. The aforementioned Fannin is another big-bodied receiving option, and the team could go from a fairly mediocre receiving unit to a very imposing one overnight.

Tillman has flashed the kind of ability that Browns fans would be looking for from Tate, but the former Tennessee receiver has been impacted by injury. Jeudy, meanwhile, is a perfectly respectable No. 2 receiver in the NFL but has struggled to carry the team as a primary target.

The Browns’ offense will likely run through Quinshon Judkins (when healthy) and Fannin in 2026, but Tate would give Cleveland an outside threat it has been lacking. Moran also gives the Browns a premier tackle prospect in Caleb Lomu later in Round 1, in what would be a phenomenal first day of the draft for Andrew Berry.
