What’s Happened To 49ers QB Brock Purdy?

Purdy was trying to rally the 49ers from a 13-3 deficit, but it didn’t work out. Seattle won the game and earned the No. 1 spot in the NFC.

Once Purdy stayed on the ground for some time, he did get back up and jogged off the field. The 49ers star then headed right to the blue tent on the 49ers’ sidelines.

On the play, Purdy appeared to have hit his hand, and he will be checked out further by the 49ers’ medical personnel after the game.

The 49ers star finished the night by going 19-of-27 passing for 127 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He was sacked three times for a loss of seven yards and had a passer rating of 64.9.

The Seattle defense kept Purdy and the 49ers’ offense in check pretty much all night long. San Francisco scored its only points on an Eddy Pineiro 48-yard field goal. How dominant was the Seahawks’ defense? For the game, San Francisco only had 173 total yards of offense.

Purdy was a seventh-round draft pick by the 49ers out of Iowa State in the 2022 NFL Draft. In three-plus seasons with San Francisco, Purdy has 11,558 career passing yards with 84 touchdown passes and 36 interceptions.

Should Purdy not be able to play in the 49ers’ next game, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan will call on backup Mac Jones to start. Jones has started some games this season while Purdy was out with injuries.

The 49ers wanted to come away with a victory in front of the home crowd, but Seattle and quarterback Sam Darnold proved to be too much.
