In Week 11, the Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely thrashed the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 35-6 to up their record to 6-4 and maintain their second-place spot in the AFC South. More surprisingly, they scored 35 points without their young star receiver, Brian Thomas Jr.. Here’s where Thomas’ injury status stands going into Week 12.
Will Brian Thomas Jr. Return this Week?
Thomas has missed the last two weeks due to an ankle injury he suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders in the team’s Week 9 overtime win. Adam Schefter later reported that Thomas was dealing with a high ankle sprain.
Not much has been announced so far this week, but there’s a good chance he will play against the Arizona Cardinals this week.
In the Jaguars’ Week 11 injury report, Thomas was a limited participant all week and held a game status of “Questionable” before being ruled out. This suggests that he was close to playing, and maybe could’ve played if it were a playoff scenario.
In eight games this season, Thomas has 30 receptions for 420 yards and one touchdown. He’s in a bit of a sophomore slump, considering last season he had 87 receptions for 1282 yards and 10 touchdowns. This season, he ranks as the 63rd-best receiver in PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact metrics, also with an impact score of 67.9 and a letter grade of D+.
High ankle sprains are nothing to rush back from, especially with a wide receiver who is only in his sophomore season.
There’s a fair shot at Thomas playing Week 12, but if he doesn’t, here’s how the wide receiver depth chart takes shape:
Jakobi Meyers
Jakobi Meyers was acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders at the NFL Trade Deadline. After saying earlier in the season that he wanted to be traded, he finally got his wish. In nine games this season, he’s hauled in 41 passes for 457 yards and has no touchdowns to his credit.
Parker Washington
Parker Washington joined the Jaguars in 2023 after they drafted him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent his collegiate career at the University of Pennsylvania, commonly referred to as Penn State. In 10 games this season, he’s caught 30 passes for 350 yards and two touchdowns.
Dyami Brown
Dyami Brown was selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders, where he spent his first four years before joining the Jaguars this season. In nine games this season, Brown has 19 receptions for 219 yards and one touchdown.
Tim Patrick
Prior to joining the Jaguars in 2025, Tim Patrick spent four years with the Denver Broncos and one year with the Detroit Lions. In nine games this season, he’s caught seven passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Austin Trammell
Similar to Patrick, Austin Trammell played with two other teams before joining the Jaguars in 2024. Those teams are the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams. Trammell has only played three games this season, during which he has caught three passes for 46 yards.
