On Jan. 28, 2022, the New York Giants hired Brian Daboll to become their next head coach, replacing Joe Judge. Daboll was one of the hottest coaching candidates. He’s a five-time Super Bowl champion and had just won NFL Assistant Coach of the Year after helping Josh Allen emerge as a superstar as the Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator.

What Is Daboll’s Salary With the Giants?

The Giants hoped Daboll could work his magic with Daniel Jones, and they agreed to pay him $5 million annually, per multiple reports. The early results were promising, as Daboll helped the Giants win their first playoff game in more than 10 years in 2022, which led to him earning the NFL’s Coach of the Year award.

However, in 2023, New York won just six games, and Jones struggled — throwing for just 909 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions in six games before tearing his ACL in November.

As a result, there were rumblings that Daboll might be on the hot seat. He was eventually fired by the Giants after Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season. According to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, New York has the 26th-ranked offense in the league, and a change was inevitable.

As mentioned, the Giants reportedly paid Daboll approximately $5 million per season. This is tied for the fourth-lowest salary among all NFL head coaches, according to Sportskeeda. The only coaches who earned less than Daboll in 2024 were Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski ($3.5 million), Dallas Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy ($4 million), and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Zac Taylor ($4.5 million).

For comparison, the highest-paid coaches in the NFL are Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid ($18 million), the Los Angeles Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh ($16 million), Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay ($14 million), and Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin ($12.5 million).

As a first-time head coach, it made sense that Daboll is near the bottom of the league in terms of salary.

While his résumé as an assistant coach was incredible — and there aren’t many coaches who can say they have five Super Bowl rings — Daboll had never been a head coach at any level prior to taking the Giants’ job, so he was unproven.

What Is Daboll’s Net Worth?

Daboll’s net worth is estimated to be $9 million. While this is a great net worth by most standards, it puts him in the middle of the pack among NFL head coaches.

At 49 years old with only two seasons as a head coach under his belt, he hasn’t been able to accumulate the kind of fortune that some of his peers have — like, say, Bill Belichick ($70 million), Reid ($50 million), or Tomlin ($30 million).

Still, it’s safe to say that Daboll is doing well, given his millions of dollars, five Super Bowl rings, and Coach of the Year award in his trophy case.

The Giants were 2-8 after Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, and they decided to move on from Daboll. He finishes in New York with a record of 20-40-1 in the regular season, and 1-1 in the playoffs.

The Giants have a great group of young players in Nabers, Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Abdul Carter. Their head coach position will be a highly coveted job in the offseason.
