The Jacksonville Jaguars have found themselves after a tough stretch of unconvincing play. The blown fourth-quarter lead to the Texans was the final straw. The Jaguars had to take a long look at themselves after losing to the Texans without C.J. Stroud. They responded against the Chargers with their playoff chances in jeopardy of dropping significantly.
Now, they have a couple of easy ones coming up and a potential Brenton Strange return looming.
What Is the Latest Update on Brenton Strange’s Return?
Strange headed to injured reserve after suffering a quad injury in Jacksonville’s triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs. Strange turned into one of the more reliable targets for Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville’s struggles coincide with the absence of Strange. Now, he is closing in on a return from injury.
The Jaguars opened his practice window, meaning that he will be returning in the next two weeks. If something goes wrong and he doesn’t make it back, his season will be over. Strange is back on the practice field and should be ready to go soon.
He might not suit up in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals because they might choose to be cautious in order to have him 100% healthy for the Tennessee Titans in Week 13. Fans can expect more news on Strange’s status once the Jaguars get back on the practice field on Wednesday for their weekly practices.
The Jaguars will be eager to get Strange active on gamedays. The other TEs, Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long, haven’t been the same weapons for the offense. Jacksonville missed their star WR Brian Thomas Jr. in Week 11 and is without Travis Hunter for the rest of the year, but their new acquisition, Jakobi Meyers, stepped in with a solid performance.
Strange will give Lawrence his safety blanket back over the middle of the field. He is the 12th-ranked tight end in PFSN’s TE Impact score with a grade of 80.3. Strange is an important piece to the puzzle for the Jaguars, and his return couldn’t be coming at a more crucial time.
If the Jaguars take care of business in the next couple of weeks, they will be looking at an 8-4 record. This would set up a huge matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14 that could swing the division in their favor. They have to be on their game, as teams will be on their tails looking to take a playoff spot from them and take it one week at a time.
They will be taking it week to week with Strange, too. Jaguars fans shouldn’t have to worry because he’ll be on the field any day now. It’s just a matter of time before the Jaguars’ offense finds its groove with its returning weapons and favorable matchups. Duval County can start getting excited about this team.
