Breece Hall Trade Rumors: Jets’ Asking Price for the Star RB Revealed Amid Significant Interest From Teams

This NFL Insider did some digging to find out what the New York Jets are asking for star running back Breece Hall ahead of the deadline.

For a team in need of a running back, Breece Hall could be the top target. The 24-year-old has done everything in his power to bring the New York Jets to relevance, but it is much more than a one-man job. Hall, who is nearing 3,000 career rushing yards, has been stellar since his rookie season was cut short.

With 24 combined touchdowns, New York may be asking for a lot, but its price could be worth it for a contender.

What Is the New York Jets’ Asking Price for Breece Hall?

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Jets’ asking price is an early Day 2 pick. There have been numerous pick-swap trades this year that include a sixth or seventh-rounder, but the Jets know Hall is worth much more than that. However, knowing a team will have to pay him after this season is where things get tricky.

“The Jets have been getting calls on RB Breece Hall for a while, and while there is interest, New York is looking for at least a third-round pick in return,” Russini said. Hall, who was drafted No. 36 overall in 2022, is set to be an unrestricted free agent next season. The Jets know he is going to have a high asking price in free agency, so they are looking to get everything they can out of him before they are forced to pay him.

For what it’s worth, Hall is worth every penny that will be thrown his way. He is averaging 5.0 yards per carry this season, which is his highest since 2022, when he played just seven games. He has 759 combined yards already this season, with 581 of those coming on the ground. He is well on his way to a career-high in carries, as his total through eight games is 117. His career-high, 223, was set in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers have been rumored to be interested in a running back at the deadline; it is just a matter of whether they are willing to meet the Jets’ asking price. The longer they wait, the greater the risk. While it would be easy to hand them a third-round pick right now, their front office is hoping that no one else bites and New York lowers its price ahead of the deadline on November 4.

The Chargers’ backfield currently consists of 24-year-old Kimani Vidal, who has had to fill the void after numerous injuries took away their depth. Vidal currently has a C in PFSN’s RB Impact Metric, which is nowhere near the B grade Hall carries. Through eight games, Hall is fifth in the overall rankings.
