NFL World Reacts To Miami Dolphins Releasing Tyreek Hill

On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news that the Dolphins will release Hill.

Via Schefter: “Sources: Miami’s eight-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill is being released. Hill turns 32 on March 1, is recovering from a dislocated knee and torn ACL, and now will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career. His release will save the Dolphins $22.8 million against the salary cap.”

Here’s what people were saying about the news:

Jordan Schultz: “The #Dolphins release Tyreek Hill, an 8x Pro Bowler, as they continue to clean house under their new regime.”

Schefter: “Tyreek Hill’s career with the Dolphins: 🏈54 games 🏈340 receptions 🏈4,733 receiving yards 🏈28 total TDs 🏈2x First-Team All-Pro 🏈Voted the NFL’s No. 1 player in the Top 100 after the 2023 season.”

@DolphinsTalkTom: “Tyreek Hill’s back to back 2022/2023 seasons are arguably some of the best in league history. He’s also arguably the greatest #PhinsUp receiver as well, statistically. Phins free up some cash in the release. Good luck @cheetah 🫡”

@DamonAmendo: “Was watching highlights of Chiefs Era Tyreek Hill – truly video game stuff. He got paid in Miami but hard not to wonder what his resume would’ve looked like in KC. 2-3 more rings. A dozen more iconic games/playoff moments on his plaque. It would’ve been a legendary career.”

Hill was the 165th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

He spent the first six years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning a Super Bowl in 2019-20.

The Dolphins last made the NFL playoffs in 2023-24, and the Dolphins ranked 27th in PFSN’s Defense Impact with a 67.6 rating.
