‘Wonder What Brandon Aiyuk Is Going to Do’ — NFL World Reacts As Commanders Sign 4-Time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs

The NFL world reacted as the Washington Commanders signed free agent Stefon Diggs rather than Brandon Aiyuk.

The Washington Commanders signed four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs on Wednesday.

Diggs helped the New England Patriots advance to the Super Bowl last season. The move comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Commanders had been linked to Brandon Aiyuk prior to his online antics.

However, Aiyuk has unleashed unfiltered rants on social media all offseason, calling out Jayden Daniels, Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch and the whole 49ers franchise.

Commanders Add Stefon Diggs, Sparking Reactions From NFL World

Diggs signed a one-year deal worth up to $12 million with the Commanders on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The news sparked plenty of reactions from the NFL community.

“Jayden Daniels is gonna have a big year,” one influencer predicted. “Might be an old WR duo but Terry & Diggs still got it.”

Last season, Diggs registered 1,013 receiving yards on 85 catches, resulting in four touchdowns. He was the seventh-best receiver in the league, according to PFN’s WR Impact Score, with a grade of 82.9.

Many of the reactions centered on Aiyuk and where he goes from here. The Commanders were widely regarded as the most likely destination for the veteran wideout given his ties to Daniels, but now that seems unlikely. Aiyuk is currently on the 49ers’ reserve/left squad list.

”[Expletive] I wonder what Brandon Aiyuk is going to do now,” Football Analysis’ Garret Greenlee added.

“Tried to tell yal boys it would not be Aiyuk lol,” former Washington safety Su’a Kristopher Cravens wrote.

“As expected. Aiyuk has worn out his welcome in the NFL. Enjoy retirement Aiyuk. You did this to yourself. All you had to do was be quiet and show up and you would’ve gotten released. Instead you went the Antonio Brown route,” sports content creator Anthony Gros wrote.

“Brandon Aiyuk career over LMAOOOOO.” another user said.

Diggs is set to join his fourth team in four years after spending time with the Patriots, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills before heading to the Commanders in 2026.

Last season, the Commanders ranked 14th in PFN’s Offense Impact Score.
