When you have an MVP quarterback like the Buffalo Bills do with Josh Allen, it tends to attract a lot of attention. Top athletes want to join forces with a player of the Bills QB’s caliber. We’ve seen that take effect with the likes of Von Miller and Joey Bosa, and they don’t even get to catch passes from Allen.
Nevertheless, players view Buffalo as a potential Super Bowl destination, even if it hasn’t quite materialized yet. Now, another NFL veteran is eyeing Buffalo as a potential dream landing spot this offseason.
Brandin Cooks Wants Another Chance With Bills
The Bills spent a portion of this offseason revamping a highly scrutinized receiving corps that features no true leader. Part of that process included trading the 60th overall pick in exchange for DJ Moore, who joins a crew that features Khalil Shakir, and drafting Skyler Bell in the fourth round.
Yet, one of the Bills’ receivers from last season, Brandin Cooks, wants another bite at the apple. Now a free agent, Cooks recently told Tim Graham of The Athletic that “Buffalo is the place I’d love to be.”
“I want to prove that to them and have a full offseason with them, Cooks said. “Both sides are figuring things out. We’ll see, but hopefully something transpires because I love going to training camp. That’s where you build that callus.”

Cooks joined the Bills late in the season (November 25), so as he noted, he didn’t get a chance to really master Joe Brady’s offense. A full training camp could change his fate.
The six-time 1,000-yard receiver, who has scored a total of 62 touchdowns in his career, is just 189 yards shy of reaching the 10,000-yard receiving mark in his career. Landing with Buffalo for what would be his 13th NFL season would seemingly give Cooks a good chance at reaching that threshold.

Yet, if the Bills do have any interest in Cooks, they may have to act quickly. His agent, Ryan Tollner, revealed that “plenty of contenders” have made contract offers to the 32-year-old, but Cooks’ heart remains in Buffalo.
“Tollner said plenty of contenders have extended offers, that an exciting choice will be made, but Cooks has emphasized his wish for one team in particular,” Graham wrote. “Cooks is done rewinding that replay, but he wants to run it back with Buffalo.”
Cooks’ last snap with the Bills came on a controversial play when he believed he had hauled in a deep pass from Allen, only for the play to be ruled as an interception by Denver Broncos cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian as the two battled to the ground.
Understandably, that missed opportunity has left Cooks with an ugly taste in his mouth. One that he’d like to clean off in Buffalo, whose offense ranked third in the league last season, according to PFN’s Offense Impact Metric.
