Josh Allen is dealing with a foot injury that could potentially impact his availability in the final stages of the 2025 NFL season. This is concerning for the Buffalo Bills with the playoffs right around the corner and their sights set on competing for a Super Bowl ring.
An insider is now suggesting that they sit out the reigning MVP for their Week 18 game against the New York Jets.
Josh Allen Injury Concerns Suggest Week 18 Benching
Allen reportedly suffered a foot injury in a Week 16 victory over the Cleveland Browns. He was still able to play last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they recorded their fewest points in a game this season en route to a loss.
NFL insider Dan Graziano recently addressed the situation during a “First Take” episode. He commented on where Allen’s health currently stands, while suggesting that the Bills sit him out in Week 18 against the Jets.
“I’m not one who advocates for sitting down players that are healthy in Week 18. He’s not, and I think the Bills should seriously consider holding him out of this last game, as much as he’ll want to play to keep his streak alive, as much as he’ll want to play the last game in that stadium, etc. It is much more important that he feels as good as he can possibly feel the following week, and I think that’s something the Bills have to consider,” stated Graziano.

Graziano explained that while Allen may have several intriguing reasons for wanting to play in Week 18, his health should be the top priority in the upcoming playoffs.
The Bills are already locked into a Wild Card spot after the New England Patriots clinched the AFC East division title last week, so that they will go on the road in the first round, regardless of their result against the Jets.
The defending MVP has started each of Buffalo’s past 115 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL. This will also be the final regular-season game at their current home stadium, as their new one is scheduled to open next year.
Graziano pointed out both of these factors in his potential decision to play or not this week, but reminded the Bills that resting his foot should take priority.
He currently ranks second among all quarterbacks in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for this season, trailing only Brock Purdy. This demonstrates how important he is on their quest to compete for the Super Bowl ring that has continually evaded them.
