The Buffalo Bills saw a disappointing end to their 2025 campaign. In a playoff run that many thought would at least result in a Super Bowl appearance, with Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow all absent, Buffalo fell flat at the hands of the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round. The devastating finish led to the firing of head coach Sean McDermott, and now Joe Brady will carry the team forward.
What is the boldest splash he could make in his first year?
Bills HC Joe Brady Predicted To Make Big Splash With Tyreek Hill Signing
Brady steps up as head coach in a controversial situation in Buffalo. Following the Bills’ playoff loss, many thought quarterback Josh Allen was to blame — not McDermott — raising a lot of questions about the hiring of Brady.
Nonetheless, Brady would want to prove any naysayers wrong, and impressing the Buffalo faithful with a strong offseason is the ideal way to do so. He already has a solid number of stars to build around, including Allen, running back James Cook, defensive end Greg Rousseau, and more. Firing onto the scene, guns ablaze, by making more star acquisitions will certainly earn the favor of the fan base.
Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr made a bold prediction for what the Bills could do this offseason to shore up the offense, naming wide receiver Tyreek Hill as a prime target.
“The Bills will edge the Chiefs and Patriots for Tyreek Hill’s services and be in the conversation for Mike Evans,” Orr wrote. “While I think the chase for Hill will be closer to the post-hype ‘chase’ for Odell Beckham Jr. — less of a drama and more about which team is willing to shell out even the slightest of guarantees — he is good enough to warrant the curiosity of a team on the doorstep.”
Hill (99.6Â PFSN’s NFL WR Impact Metrics in 2023) might be on the heels of his prime years, but the receiver can still produce at a high level. Pairing him with Allen and an offensive mind like Brady has the potential of bringing back the glory years for both the player and the team.
“Brandon Beane and new head coach Joe Brady have been on a PR blitz this offseason to counteract the firing of Sean McDermott,” Orr added. “Pacifying the fan base by showing interest in a slew of brand-name wide receivers is one of the fastest ways to alter public perception.”
Hill, with his 90 career touchdowns, is a flashy piece that’ll go a long way toward building a receiving corps that only really has tight end Dalton Kincaid and wideout Khalil Shakir as viable pass catchers.
