Bill Belichick has been making headlines lately, and they have nothing to do with football. While the legendary coach was always great at brushing off difficult topics such as Deflategate and Spygate, this situation is different since it’s about his personal life.
Belichick, who is 73 years old, is dating a 24-year-old former cheerleader named Jordon Hudson. Watching their relationship unfold on social media has been a surreal experience. The coach, known for wearing cut-off sweatshirts and a permanent scowl, is now doing yoga with Hudson and taking photos with her on the red carpet.
This May-September relationship has everyone talking and sharing their opinions. Belichick has been on the circuit promoting his new book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football,” which means he cannot fully avoid the questions.
Bill Belichick’s Recent Interview Soured When Jordon Hudson Relationship Came Up
Recently, Belichick appeared on “Good Morning America” for an interview with former Super Bowl champion Michael Strahan. The former defensive end asked Belichick about his book and his transition to coaching college football at the University of North Carolina. It was all going well until Strahan brought up Belichick’s relationship with Hudson.
“I know that a lot has been made of your professional life, but also of your personal life. Because it spilled over into your professional life in a lot of ways, a lot has been made about your relationship with Jordon Hudson; it’s been getting a lot of attention,” Strahan said to Belichick, pointing out that Hudson was not with him for the interview. “She isn’t here this morning, but what do you think about all of the attention?”
“She’s been terrific through the whole process,” Belichick said. “She’s been very helpful to me. She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so that I can concentrate on football. That’s really what I want to do.”
Belichick added that she was a great help while he was writing the book since she assisted with the tribute pages and provided a “business” perspective since sometimes he can get a bit too football-technical.

Then, Strahan asked Belichick what Hudson means to him, and that’s when things soured.
“We have a good personal relationship,” Belichick stated before switching gears and chastizing Strahan. “You know, I’m not talking about personal relationships, Michael, you know that.”
Despite Belichick’s obvious reluctance to discuss his personal life, Strahan continued to ask about it.
“Are you happy?” Strahan asked before a pause. “You look happy. I never thought I’d see you doing yoga.”
Belichick laughed, and there was an awkward silence, as the coach was clearly uncomfortable with the personal questions.
“Only happy people do yoga,” Strahan repeated twice, filling the awkward silence.
Strahan then wrapped up the interview, stating that he hopes the media’s focus shifts back to Belichick’s coaching career instead of his personal life.
“I know a lot has been made about all of this, and I just hope the focus gets back on you and your future,” Strahan said. “If you’re happy, we’re all happy for you.”
