The trade deadline is just over 24 hours away from the time of this writing on Nov. 4 at 4:00 pm ET, and now, the asking price for the superstar pass rusher for the Cincinnati Bengals, Trey Hendrickson, has been revealed.
The Bengals and Trey Hendrickson Are In Purgatory
According to Dianna Russini of “The Athletic,” the Bengals are seeking a first-round pick in exchange for their star off the edge.
“League sources say the Bengals are still asking for a first-round pick in any deal for Trey Hendrickson at this time.
“The trade deadline arrives in just over 28 hours, and teams are continuing to call Cincinnati about a number of their players. For now, prices remain high,” Russini said in her post.
So far this season, Hendrickson has recorded four sacks and has 23 pressures. Of course, this isn’t quite the start he was hoping for after recording 17.5 sacks in each of the previous two seasons, but still, Hendrickson is perhaps the most dominant attainable pass rusher at this year’s trade deadline.

That said, since Joe Flacco joined the team a few weeks ago, they’re 1-3, and it’s solely because of their defense.
Sure, that first game for Flacco at the Green Bay Packers, it would’ve been a shocker to win that. However, after that, they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers at home 33-31, and then lost their next two games to the New York Jets at home 39-38 and to the Chicago Bears at home 47-42.
In those two losses, Flacco threw for a combined 693 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions. The defense cannot stop anyone. The team ranks dead last in PFSN’s Defense Impact metric with a 55.5 grade. This team has several stars, including wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, and quarterback Joe Burrow, who’s out until next month with a toe injury.
In trading away Hendrickson, the Bengals’ defense cannot get any worse, and he’s on an expiring one-year deal. Dealing Hendrickson makes sense. They’re not far out of a wild-card spot, but with how bad their defense is, it’s going to be hard to rely on them to win games down the stretch.
Simply put, the defense needs to demonstrate some semblance of being an NFL-caliber unit. It’s doubtful Hendrickson moves, but perhaps the Dallas Cowboys could be in on him, as PFSN’s Jacob Infante mentioned.
