DJ Moore has been a key piece of the Chicago Bears’ offense in recent years, but this will apparently no longer be the case beginning in the 2026 NFL season. He will reportedly be traded to the Buffalo Bills during the offseason to theoretically give them the true number one wide receiver they have been missing. Here’s what’s left on their roster at the position after their star’s departure.
Bears Wide Receiver Depth Chart
Sending Moore away to the Bills leaves the Bears thin at wide receiver, though their offense is still loaded with weapons. They have an excellent backfield tandem, which includes D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, to go with their strong tight end pairing of Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet.
This should give Caleb Williams plenty of options to work with, but the Bears will surely need to replenish their wide receivers. They were already thin before trading away Moore, but when the deal becomes official, they will be left with just three players on their depth chart at the position.

Luther Burden III
The Bears selected Luther Burden III in the NFL Draft last year, and he went on to have a solid rookie season. His production, which includes finishing 11th among all wide receivers in PFSN’s NFL WR Impact Rankings, may be one of the main reasons why Chicago was comfortable parting ways with Moore.
Burden proved that he can make the most of his opportunities last year by finishing seventh in yards per target. He should now slide into a bigger role with the veteran out of the picture and could be in line for a massive season with an increased workload.
Rome Odunze
Williams, along with head coach Ben Johnson, has an exciting pair of young wide receivers to go with their promising youth at other offensive skill positions as well. Rome Odunze, who is entering just his third year in the league, will be paired with Burden in their starting lineup. He has flashed brilliance during his career and could be trending upwards, with year two including him doubling his touchdowns and increasing his yards per game.
Jahdae Walker
After making the roster as an undrafted free agent, Jahdae Walker provided depth to the Bears’ wide receivers. He is a sleeper candidate to break out in year two with plenty of targets being vacated by Moore. It will be interesting to see how they fill out their roster, but he has a chance to earn a significant role in their offense.
