Baker Mayfield is having one of the best comeback stories of the year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After years of not living up to his first overall pick draft status, Mayfield has become one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
However, it is not his gameplay that has fans talking on social media right now. It is Mayfield’s new look and it is one that even made his wife, Emily, swoon.
What Did Bucaneers QB Baker Mayfield’s Wife, Emily, Say About His Newest Photo?
Mayfield was selected first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, while he showed flashes of the star he was at Oklahoma, he was never able to find success in Cleveland consistently.
The question from many was: Is the problem Cleveland, or is the problem Mayfield? After all, he wouldn’t be the first quarterback in the league to fail to live up to the hopes of the fanbase.
His stops with the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Rams seemed to solidify that the issue was Mayfield, and he seemed relegated to play backup for the remainder of his career. Then the Buccaneers came calling. Mayfield was set to compete to be the replacement for the G.O.A.T., Tom Brady.

Mayfield won the starting job in 2023 and earned himself a Pro Bowl nod in his first two seasons in Florida. PFSN’s Quarterback Impact metric has given Mayfield a grade of B for the first six weeks of the season for the Buccaneers’ 5-1 start.
Throughout his entire journey, his wife, Emily, has been by his side, offering encouragement and support. That included a recent comment on a photo of the quarterback on Instagram.
Mayfield can be seen dressed all in army green, wearing sunglasses and carrying a backpack as he steps out of a black Jeep.
“Oh my goodness gracious,” commented Emily on Baker’s photo on Instagram. The comment was accompanied by emojis showing just how attractive she thinks he is.

It is no surprise that Mayfield is feeling good. So far in 2025, he has shown himself to be cool and calm under pressure. The way he has overcome adversity has won the respect of his coaches and teammates.
Through the first six games, he has completed 129 passes for 1,539 yards and 12 touchdowns with only one interception.
While the season is not even to the halfway mark, Mayfield’s outstanding play has made a case for him in the MVP conversation.
