Did Bad Bunny Get More Views Than Turning Point USA for Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show?

The halftime show performer is always one of the biggest storylines ahead of the Super Bowl each year, but this season probably included more controversy than most. Some in the NFL claimed they would boycott this year’s performance featuring Bad Bunny as the headliner. His political views and primarily Spanish lyrics were among the reasons cited by many who claimed to oppose his being picked.

This essentially resulted in Turning Point USA putting on an alternate “All-American Halftime Show” on their YouTube channel, and a performance advertised as leaning much more to the right than Bad Bunny. Kid Rock, an active conservative and outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump, was announced as the headliner, and he would be joined by Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

While the official Nielsen numbers won’t be released until late Tuesday afternoon, the early projections show that viewership was not close at all. The official Super Bowl 60 halftime show appears to have won in a landslide, though the alternative performance still apparently attracted millions of viewers. Bad Bunny is rumored to have drawn more than 135 million viewers, while TPUSA drew just over six million.

The massive number for Bad Bunny is obviously influenced by it being the primary halftime show, taking place on NBC and Peacock during the Super Bowl 60 broadcast. The annual performance regularly exceeds 100 million, but early reports indicate that this year set a new all-time record for the most-watched in Super Bowl history, perhaps due to its global appeal.

Surrounding the halftime performances was a game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots to crown a champion of the 2025 NFL season. It featured two top-13 quarterbacks in PFSN’s Impact Metric for this year, but it was really the Seahawks’ defense that shone the brightest in the contest on their way to a dominant victory.

Seattle gave the Patriots’ offense issues all game long, and while New England’s defense was relatively solid, they struggled to stop he ground game. This led to Kenneth Walker III being named Super Bowl MVP for his contributions to the win.
