Judge Issues Arrest Order For Bill Belichick’s Daughter-In-Law Jen After Incident In North Carolina

A new legal development involving Jen Belichick adds to the off-field attention surrounding Bill Belichick's personal life.

Bill Belichick’s family drama just picked up a new subplot, and this one has nothing to do with football or Jordon Hudson. Jen Belichick, wife of UNC defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, is now facing an arrest order out of Brunswick County, North Carolina.

The trouble started back in May, when she was allegedly pulled over for driving 88 mph in a 70 mph zone. Police cited her for misdemeanor speeding, a charge that comes with a mandatory court appearance. That court date was last Friday, but Jen didn’t show up, and the judge overseeing her case didn’t let it slide. A formal order for her arrest was issued.

Another Off-Field Headline for Bill Belichick’s Family

TMZ points out that missing a court date doesn’t automatically mean jail time is coming, and Jen still has a few paths available to her.

She could voluntarily surrender to authorities, have her attorney address the matter without her appearing in court, or ask the judge to withdraw the arrest order and schedule a new hearing.

For now, it’s unknown how she’ll proceed. It’s also unclear whether authorities have already taken her into custody. Neither Jen nor any member of the Belichick family has publicly addressed the matter.

This isn’t the first time Jen has found herself in the headlines lately, though her past appearances had nothing to do with the law.

She’s been open about her frustration with Hudson, the girlfriend of her father-in-law, Bill Belichick.

Jen reportedly pushed back on Jordon’s involvement in Bill’s widely discussed CBS sit-down interview last year, and there have been whispers of tension brewing within the family, particularly around the UNC program.

The timing of this legal drama isn’t great for the family, given how rough Steve’s first year on Bill’s UNC coaching staff has already been. The Tar Heels stumbled through the legendary head coach’s first season in North Carolina, finishing with just four wins. One of those wins came against Syracuse.

Belichick brought in a massive transfer class last offseason, one that was ranked eighth by On3, pulling players away from bigger programs, but it didn’t translate to results.

UNC’s offense sputtered behind junior quarterback Gio Lopez, who threw for under 1,800 yards with more interceptions than most coaches would like to see relative to touchdowns.

The defense wasn’t much better. UNC ranked near the bottom of FBS in fourth-down stops last season, allowing opponents to convert a staggering percentage of their chances.

Both Lopez and Lopez’s now-departed teammate, linebacker Mikai Gbayor, have since transferred out, leaving UNC to rebuild key spots heading into 2026.

North Carolina already faced an uphill climb after landing the On3’s 64th-ranked transfer class and dealing with questions about locker-room chemistry. Now, a family legal matter has added another distraction, putting the Belichick name in the spotlight for off-field reasons.
