How Many Picks Do the Cardinals Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Entering Thursday, the Cardinals have six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They’ve retained all of their original selections in the first five rounds. However, they traded away their seventh-round pick in a deal for Robbie Anderson (also known as Robbie Chosen) and traded their sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos for EDGE Baron Browning.

The Cardinals have added one pick from elsewhere. They sent defensive end Cameron Thomas to the Chiefs in return for a seventh-round selection, which was originally acquired from the Jets.

What Are the Cardinals’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

  • EDGE, DT, WR, G, LB

The Cardinals’ 2024 season faded into oblivion over the final two months. After their bye week, they went 2-5 to finish 8-9 on the season. A big part of their struggles last season revolved around their defense, as they ranked 27th in Defense+ compared to fifth in Offense+.

The Cardinals made some good strides when it came to improving their pass rush with our top free agent, Josh Sweat. They re-signed Baron Browning and L.J. Collier and now have a group of Sweat, Browning, Collier, and B.J. Ojulari. While Sweat is a high-end pass rusher, the remaining trio leaves something to be desired. Adding another potential high-impact pass-rusher should be one of their draft priorities.

Linebacker and defensive tackle are both spots that they still need to address. Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Akeem Davis-Gaither are good additions, but Campbell is a short-term addition, while Tomlinson and Davis-Gaither are not guaranteed to be long-term contributors.

The Cardinals’ offensive needs revolve around adding another weapon they can rely on alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride. They can still look to add veteran options late in free agency, but even then, they will want another young receiver they can develop into a devastating trio of receivers.

The situation at guard is intriguing for the Cardinals. They re-signed both Evan Brown and Kelvin Beachum just prior to free agency. Brown should slot straight in at guard, while Beachum’s return could mean that either Beachum or Paris Johnson Jr. kick inside as a starting guard. Either way, the Cardinals should look to add a guard option in the draft, either as a starter or a developmental project.
