The Detroit Lions turned the ball over six times, including five times on interceptions and fumbles by Lions quarterback Jared Goff, en route to a loss. But their biggest loss might have occurred with just seconds left in the game on Christmas Day.
Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, on the Lions’ last possession of a 23-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium, went down after being tackled.
What’s The Latest On Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown?
After getting tackled, St. Brown was grabbing at his leg. Lions’ medical personnel immediately rushed to check up on him.
Lions beat writer Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News headed out to X and posted, “Amon-Ra St. Brown took a very awkward hit and is being attended to by the training staff with 38 seconds remaining”.

In the loss, St. Brown had eight catches for 68 yards and no touchdowns. Now, with the Lions being knocked out of the NFL postseason with the loss, any long-term injury that might keep St. Brown out of action will not be good news at all for Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his players.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, St. Brown has an impact score of 86.1 and grades out to a B. Entering the Lions’ Christmas Day loss to the Vikings, St. Brown had 98 catches for 1,194 yards and 11 touchdown catches, while averaging 12.2 yards per catch.
The Lions entered the game against the Vikings knowing that Minnesota was going to start rookie quarterback Max Brosmer in the game. Campbell and his coaches likely viewed this contest as an opportunity to capitalize on the rookies’ inexperience.
Brosmer was harassed in the game by Detroit defensive star Aidan Hutchinson, who recorded two sacks in the game. However, Detroit’s offense struggled to put together steady scoring drives. Those turnovers didn’t help one bit. The Lions and Vikings now have 8-8 season records after the Christmas Day showdown.
In the aftermath of Thursday’s loss, some Lions fans are even calling for Campbell to be fired, but the head coach probably doesn’t care too much about their opinions. One of his main focuses, outside of the entire team, is how St. Brown is doing and how serious his injury will be going forward
