The 2025 NFL Draft featured a ton of talent, but not everyone heard their name called. One of those players was Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders, who went undrafted.
However, Sanders was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent and will try to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Alvin Kamara Sends Message to Shilo Sanders
Sanders had a solid senior season at Colorado in 2024, playing in 10 games and recording 67 total tackles (44 solo), two tackles for loss, one sack, two pass deflections, two fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown), and one forced fumble.
With the last name Sanders, expectations are always going to be high. Now, all eyes will be on how he handles the next step.
If Sanders makes the Buccaneers roster, there are some fun matchups to watch for him this season, especially in the NFC South. One in particular is the New Orleans Saints and running back Alvin Kamara.
In a video posted to social media by Sanders, he and Kamara cross paths, and the Saints star has a quick message for him.
“You’re in my division now … you gotta play against me!”
Kamara has caused problems for Tampa Bay in the past, scoring 12 touchdowns in 14 career games against them, making plays both on the ground and through the air. Sanders joins a Bucs defense that finished the regular season 16th in the NFL with a 74.5 grade per PFSN’s Defense+ metric.
The safety room in Tampa Bay is wide open. Christian Izien, Marcus Banks, and fellow undrafted free agent J.J. Roberts are also competing for snaps at free safety. For Sanders, standing out in rookie minicamp and training camp will be key.
He and Kamara actually have some history. Before the draft, Kamara was spotted in Boulder hanging out with the Sanders family. Now, it’s all business.
Despite his age (29), Kamara continues to produce at a high level for the Saints. His stats can often be deceiving. After all, Kamara has never recorded a 1,000-yard rushing season as a running back, and yet he’s been named to two All-Pro teams. His value lies in his overall offensive package.
In 2024, he finished with 1,493 yards for scrimmage and eight total touchdowns. In eight professional seasons, Kamara has never registered fewer than 1,100 yards from scrimmage.
Needless to say, if Sanders makes the Buccaneers roster and meets Kamara in the open field, he better bring his best.
Kamara 🥸 the professor. Young baks learn from him.
