Aaron Rodgers was forced to miss the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game last week after injuring his wrist in their previous contest. It was his first missed game since joining the Steelers during the offseason, and they are hoping it will be the only one.
A concerning update on the details of his injury may make it difficult for him.
Will Aaron Rodgers Play in Week 13 After Concerning Injury Update?
Rodgers reportedly has broken bones in his left wrist, which ultimately resulted in him missing the Steelers’ game against the Chicago Bears last week. The injury occurred in their game prior against the Cincinnati Bengals in the first half of the contest. NFL insider Ian Rapoport gave an update on where the veteran stands ahead of their Week 13 clash with the Buffalo Bills.
“Rodgers has at least 3 fractures, one of which is a more consequential break that can only happen with significant force. And he’s playing, regardless,” reported Rapoport.
The good news is that he is going to play against the Bills in an important AFC clash for the upcoming playoff picture. Both teams are currently borderline in making it to the postseason, so a win this week will be crucial, while a head-to-head victory could play a factor down the road.
#Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers, who is set to start today, will do so despite several broken bones in his left wrist, sources say.

Mason Rudolph got the start last week against the Bears, his first for the Steelers this season. They were defeated 31-28 in a thriller and also lost the AFC North divisional lead in the process.
They were surpassed by the surging Baltimore Ravens after being on top for almost the entire year previously. However, the Steelers regained the top spot after the Ravens had a dismal performance against the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals.
All of this likely contributes to why Rodgers is playing this week against the Bills, despite his deeply concerning fractured wrist. He’s lucky that it’s on his non-throwing arm, because if it were his right wrist, it seems highly unlikely that trying to play through it would even be an option for the veteran. He will give it a shot with it being on the left, but re-injury or further complications are among the risks he will deal with in doing so.
Rodgers currently ranks 27th among all quarterbacks in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for this season, so he has surely had his struggles. He still probably gives them the best chance to win in favor of starting Rudolph again. They are locked into a tight battle for a playoff spot, both in the division and the Wild Card race, so they don’t exactly have the luxury of remaining patient.
