Fans React to Victoria Azarenka’s Outburst Against Iga Świątek at the 2025 Bad Homburg Open

During the second set of the second-round match between Azarenka and Świątek, the Belarusian became frustrated with the five-time Grand Slam champion for taking an excessive amount of time between serves.

Azarenka’s temper flared particularly when Świątek completed her ball toss but refrained from serving, prompting the former to voice her complaints to the chair umpire. Azarenka’s emotional outburst and her subsequent rant did not resonate well with tennis fans, who took to social media to express their discontent.

One fan labeled Azarenka a “hypocrite,” pointing out that she, like Świątek, had also taken considerable time between her serves during the match.

“that you? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 You f hypocrite (:” a fan posted.

Another fan remarked that Azarenka should refrain from criticizing Świątek for her pace, given her own history of using “fake” medical time-outs as a strategic maneuver in the past.

“Assarenka complaining about anything is so funny, like she must have forgotten about all those fake mtos from the past sksjskdjsisjs,” a fan wrote.

“i lowkey need iga to start giving back the same energy to these players,” a fan posted.

“Girl you were delaying her serve too like make it make sense?” a fan wrote.

“Traditional Vika and her dramas, she cannot survive these defeats, she herself threw the balls to serve many times,” a fan posted.

“Not like she wasn’t doing the same thing a game earlier and then raising her racquet when Iga was serving🤡💀,” a fan wrote.

“She complains every time, every player does that. It’s tiring at this point,” a fan posted.

Looking ahead, Świątek will compete against either eighth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova or wild card Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Bad Homburg Open.

Meanwhile, Azarenka will next participate in the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, scheduled to take place from Jun. 30 to Jul. 13, 2025, at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London. Her best result at the grasscourt Major has been reaching the semifinals twice, in 2011 and 2012, before falling to eventual champions Petra Kvitová and Serena Williams, respectively.
