Rashod Bateman is staying in Baltimore, and no one is happier than Lamar Jackson.
Lamar Jackson Reacts to Rashod Bateman’s Extension
Moments after Bateman signed a new three-year, $36.75 million deal with the Ravens, Jackson posted his reaction on Instagram. Reposting a collaborative post from NFL and Gopher Football that read “Rashod Bateman earned that contract extension,” Jackson added one word:
“Yessuhhhhhhh!!!!”

That word alone might’ve said it all for Baltimore’s franchise QB, who just locked down his top deep threat.
Jackson and Bateman now head into 2025 ready to build on a red-hot connection that helped power the NFL’s No. 1 offense last season. Bateman averaged 16.8 yards per catch in 2024—third-best in the league—and posted a career-high nine touchdown receptions.
Rashod Bateman Cashes In After Breakout Year
A year after signing a modest two-year, $12.8 million extension due to training camp complications, Bateman has flipped the script. He’s now under contract through 2029, with $20 million guaranteed in his new deal, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“I work for the Ravens. I work for Lamar Jackson technically,” Bateman told reporters. “If these guys are pleased with what I’m doing and my work ethic … then I feel like as a team, that’s important to me.”
That work clearly paid off. In 2024, Bateman had the best season of his career, finishing with 756 yards and nine touchdowns on 45 catches. He also had three touchdown grabs of 40-plus yards—tied for the most by any Ravens player in a season since 2000.
The Ravens, long criticized for not developing receivers, now have a legit duo in Bateman and Zay Flowers. Bateman also just made franchise history—he’s the first first-round WR Baltimore has signed to a second, and now third, contract.
What This Means for the Ravens’ Offense
This deal locks in Baltimore’s WR room heading into 2025. And after turning down trade interest from the Cowboys—who later traded for George Pickens—it’s clear the Ravens see Bateman as a cornerstone.

Now healthy and fully integrated into the offense, Bateman is eyeing a “revenge season” after years of injury setbacks. He called the new contract “a respect thing,” adding: “It’s kind of how this league works. You get paid if you’re doing the right things on and off the field, and it’s a respect thing. It’s showing that the organization believes in me. It’s showing that I believe in them. So hopefully this thing keeps on trucking in that direction.”
If 2024 was the breakout, 2025 might be the takeoff.
