Congratulations to all of the fantasy football managers still playing in a meaningful game. For the majority of the fantasy managers, they are already taking that look back at what they could have done differently. To give yourself the best chance to win this week, let’s take a look at some running backs who if healthy could play a huge role.
What are the latest injury updates on Brian Robinson Jr., Chris Rodriguez Jr., and Najee Harris as we enter Week 17?
RB Injury Updates
Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
Knowing which Washington Commanders RB is going to have a big week has been a difficult riddle to solve this year. Each week, it has been a different player, whether it be a running back or wide receiver. One of the guys who has at times played a big role in the offense is Robinson.
Robinson missed his second consecutive game on Sunday against the New York Jets. He’s dealing with a hamstring injury, which he injured against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. He has missed the team’s last two games.
He was a limited participant at practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign moving forward for him to play this week. While teams often keep guys out at this time of the year, Robinson is still a young player. If he can go, I would expect the Commanders to at least let him go.
Another reason why they may need Robinson to go is because he isn’t the only Commanders running back battling injury.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
Editor’s note:Â Rodriguez has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with his ankle injury.
Rodriguez filled in and played some solid football. He had 58 yards and two touchdowns but was seen in a boot after the game against the Jets.
While that was a great fantasy day from an unexpected hero, there was some bad news: the reason he was seen leaving the stadium in a boot was due to an ankle injury.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday as he is resting his ankle, and his status like Robinson’s is unknown. For Rodriguez, this stretch with Robinson injured is big for him, as it is a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills to the Commanders and the rest of the league in his rookie season.
The Commanders are going up against the San Francisco 49ers who are going to be a tough challenge. The 49ers are going to be looking to bounce back from their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 49ers are ranked third against the run (90.3 yards).
Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Harris had a pretty good game against the Cincinnati Bengals, as he rushed the ball 19 times for 78 yards while scoring a touchdown. What kills his fantasy value is the fact he just doesn’t catch the ball, as he hasn’t had a catch in the last two weeks.
Now, he also has another issue, as he is having to deal with an injury. Harris missed practice on Wednesday, as he was resting his knee. While he isn’t 100%, very few players are at this stage.
Right now, it is too early to know whether or not this is because of the knee or if it was a maintenance day. There is a good chance that Harris could play if it was a game day and they are just resting him throughout the week.
Seeing how active Harris is on Thursday and Friday will be a good indicator of whether he is going to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
