Fantasy Injury Update: Chris Godwin, Zay Flowers, and Dontayvion Wicks Impacting Week 16 Rankings

Here is a fantasy injury update for Chris Godwin, Zay Flowers, and Dontayvion Wicks as we near the start of Week 16 in the NFL season.

Week 16 of the fantasy football season is here, and it is a great time as the holidays are upon us as well. Many teams are gearing up for their fantasy matchups, with many of them being for a spot in the championship game.

To achieve that goal of making and winning the championship, you have to be up to date on your players’ health statuses and their injury updates ahead of their games.

The wide receiver position is always crucial, and some key, underrated players who could help people win in Week 16 are dealing with injuries. Let’s take a look at Chris Godwin, Zay Flowers, and Dontayvion Wicks and check their statuses moving forward.

Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Godwin was able to play last week against the Green Bay Packers, and he had a spectacular game. He finished with 10 catches for 155 yards and helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get a massive road victory.

Godwin was limited on Wednesday with a knee injury, but that injury has been lingering for some time, and he showed last Sunday that he can still produce at a high level. The Buccaneers are right there in the thick of the NFC playoff race and have a legitimate chance of winning the NFC South.

The fact he is limited in practice is a good indicator that he is going to probably be able to go. If he was seriously hurt, they wouldn’t even have him out there on the practice field.

Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens

Editor’s note: Flowers was seen at practice on Thursday for the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens have been searching for receivers in the past few NFL Drafts, and they appear to have found their guy in Flowers. The rookie from Boston College has 65 catches for 680 yards and three touchdowns this season.

While the touchdowns aren’t as high as managers would like, he has shown the potential to be a very good fantasy receiver in the future.

Flowers is dealing with a foot injury, and it caused him to miss practice on Wednesday. While that could be something that could scare fantasy managers, coach John Harbaugh said that the team has no concern with his foot injury. That is good news from Harbaugh, as the Ravens do have a big game against the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day.

The fact the game is on Monday night gives Flowers a little more time to rest, but Harbaugh said the team isn’t concerned, which should be a good indication that Flowers will be active on Monday.

Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Green Bay Packers

Wick has been battling injuries the past two weeks, but he was able to play through it last weekend against Tampa Bay. Not only was he able to play, but he had a big-time game; he finished with six catches for 97 yards.

His injury is keeping him limited in practice, as he hasn’t been able to go full tilt yet this week. While it is still early in the week, that isn’t a surprising thing that he isn’t going all out in practice.

It is December right now, so there are going to be plenty of players who are limited in practice that will play in their respective games. Each week, Wicks is becoming more and more important to the Packers’ offense. Unless it is an injury that he just truly can’t play with, expect him to be on the field on Sunday.
