The Chicago Bears will have some decisions to make at the running back position, and in turn, so will fantasy football managers. Should you start Khalil Herbert, D’Onta Foreman, or Roschon Johnson in your lineup for Week 14? We’ll give you the fantasy outlook for each player.
Should You Start Khalil Herbert, D’Onta Foreman, or Roschon Johnson This Week?
In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, our Consensus Rankings say that Herbert is the player to start. His projected 7.6 points include 45 rushing yards, one reception, and five receiving yards. His projected stat line outperforms the consensus projection of Johnson (6.8 points) and Foreman (4.8 points).

However, when you isolate my ranking for these three Bears running backs, I think that Johnson is going to be the guy. Johnson’s performance last week was a good sign for fantasy managers, and he saw his greatest amount of time on the field this season. He is solid in both the passing and the rushing game, and that will be the difference between these three players.
Fantasy Outlook for Herbert This Week
In his first two games back after missing five straight with an ankle injury, Herbert has rushed the ball 22 times for 59 yards. He doesn’t look like the same running back as he did last year and doesn’t look to be explosive yet.
Another issue for Herbert is the fact the Bears aren’t giving him the ball or even having him on the field much recently. In the Week 12 win against the Minnesota Vikings, Herbert was only on the field for 15 offensive snaps, and he carried the ball just six times (for 24 yards).
With that little production and time on the field, it makes you wonder if Herbert truly is healthy yet.
Fantasy Outlook for Foreman This Week
When Foreman has been healthy this year, he has had some really good games. He injured his ankle in the Week 11 game against the Detroit Lions. That injury caused him to miss the game against the Vikings. He did practice last weekend during the bye week, so with an extra week of rest, it’s possible he could return for Week 14.
Even if he is healthy though, will the Bears go back to him? His health status is worth watching the rest of this week, but even if he plays, his ability to get enough touches could be challenging this week.
Fantasy Outlook for Johnson This Week
The Bears gave Johnson a chance to be the man in the backfield in Week 12, and he showed he is more than capable of handling that role. He was on the field for 74% of the Bears’ offensive snaps and finished the game with 10 carries for 35 yards.
While he is a solid runner, what makes him good for fantasy is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He had five catches for 40 yards against the Vikings. For the season, Johnson has 24 catches for 131 yards.
The Lions’ defense has been solid all year, so you are going to want your best playmakers on the field. For Johnson, he fits that bill for the Bears and should be in your lineup.
