Week 10 of fantasy football is one of the last weeks for managers to figure their team out and try and get to the playoffs. They have to make decisions on lineups that could be the difference in a playoff push or a long offseason.
Let’s take a look at the running back position and whether fantasy managers should have Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard or Chicago Bears RB D’Onta Foreman in their lineup.
Should You Start Chuba Hubbard or D’Onta Foreman This Week?
In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, PFN’s Consensus Rankings say that Hubbard is the player to start. His projected 10.4 points include a projection of 49 rushing yards, two receptions, and 23 receiving yards. That doesn’t seem like a big stat line, but it outperforms the consensus projection of Foreman’s 8.2 points.
My ranking for these two running backs aligns with the consensus simply because Hubbard is more likely to be involved in the Panthers’ offense than Foreman is in the Bears’, even though it looks like Chicago will still be without RB Khalil Herbert for this matchup.
Additionally, Hubbard has continued to get a good amount of carries, as he has rushed the ball at least 15 times in the last three games.
Editor’s note: Herbert was not called up to the active roster and will be out for this TNF matchup against the Panthers.
Hubbard’s Fantasy Outlook This Week
RB Miles Sanders was supposed to be the go-to running back in Carolina, but it hasn’t panned out that way. Sanders was getting the ball more in the first four games but hasn’t received those carries since missing the game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6.
A big reason why Hubbard is continuing to get the carries is because he has been more successful rushing. Although he’s only averaging 3.9 yards per carry, Sanders is averaging just 3.3.

The Panthers’ ground game has struggled, and that has made things very difficult for rookie QB Bryce Young. Young had a very difficult week in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week, as he threw two pick-sixes to DB Kenny Moore III. While the Bears give up only 79.7 rushing yards (fourth), a large part of that is because they struggle to stop the pass (256.9 passing yards), ranking 28th.
Hubbard has 19 catches this year, and he could be in store for at least four or five on Thursday.
Foreman’s Fantasy Outlook This Week
Foreman has been the lead back for the Bears for the past few weeks. He had 20 carries for 83 yards last week against the New Orleans Saints.
The Panthers know Foreman well — he was their leading rusher last season (914 rushing yards). He had five games last year of at least 100 yards for Carolina and scored five rushing touchdowns. If we knew that Foreman was going to get the same number of touches he has the past few weeks, then Foreman would definitely be the guy to have in your lineup. However, if Herbert is back, it is just unknown how many attempts Foreman gets.
It’s likely that he will receive a similar amount of touches that he has been getting if Herbert is out. However, neither of these teams figures to score a ton of points, so you may want to look at different running backs to have in your lineup.
