The Steelers vs. Eagles NFL Week 1 preseason game will be played Thursday, August 12. This will be the second preseason game for the Steelers after their victory in the Hall of Fame Game last week. Here is how you can watch the game, the live stream options, start time, TV channel, and NFL odds.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles | Preseason Week 1
After an easy win over the Dallas Cowboys 16-3 last Thursday night, the Steelers will look to continue their preseason success against the Eagles. Pittsburgh will likely go with the same rotation of quarterbacks (Mason Rudolph, Dwayne Haskins, Joshua Dobbs) to try and help pinpoint who will be QB2 behind Ben Roethlisberger this year.
Meanwhile, the Eagles will be taking the field for the first time this preseason. One of the more interesting storylines to watch in the NFL is the QB battle between Jalen Hurts and the veteran Joe Flacco. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has not committed to naming either one the starter for the year, so expect to see them a lot in this game.

Steelers vs. Eagles | Current NFL odds, spreads, betting lines, and predictions
- Spread:Â Eagles -1 (-115)
- Moneyline:Â Eagles -130, Steelers +110
- Total:Â 34.5 (Over -120, Under +100)
When betting on the preseason, going with the side that has a legitimate QB1 battle is usually your best bet. Hurts will see a lot of playing time, and although he struggled last year, he is still a competent QB. He should be able to make some plays against Pittsburgh’s backup defense even without rookie WR DeVonta Smith.
With little star power on either side of the ball, I would look to the under in this one. After Chase Claypool went down for a few minutes in Pittsburgh’s battle with Dallas, I cannot see Mike Tomlin risking injury by playing his starting offensive weapons. We will likely see rookie RB Najee Harris for a few drives, but then it will be the Kalen Ballage show from there.
